Brucelee, the only differences between the 08,10, and 11 X's is in 10 they went to a color LCD on the dash (hella nice I really want a 10 gauge cluster) and the 11 has a new SE that's sst equipt just like the mr but with better suspension, but lacking a few comforts of the mr. But just like you said IMO the Gsr is he only way to go, you won't have to worry about the sst over heating on track days and whatnot (obviously this is fixable too but I like the 5 Spd). Just make sure you swap the fluid out for some redline mtl and your good to go. Oh also if you get a gsr get he SSS package it comes with the xenon lights and the Rockford 10" sub that freakin sounds awesome (I almost leave mine on level 3 it hits soo hard). Don't know if you like navi but that's always a option too.

Only issues with evo x / GSR owners is there clutch master cylinder. All our customers upgrade there master cylinders. Other then that no major issues w/ the car.
If you buy a MR/SE then only issue when you modify the engine is the transmission. You would need to upgrade the transmission fluid $75 a quart (SSP Fluid), Transmission cooler, Transmission Pan etc.

The EvoX is an amazing car. If i were buying a new ride at this point, it would be an EvoX or the Ralliart Sportback.
Awesome machines... although, i dont find the new evo seats comfortable

I thought I was on EvolutionM for a minute looking at those pictures.
The thing is they can always under rate the car's power. The X is factory rated at a measly 291bhp but most 2010 X GSRs dyno 265-270 WHP bne stock on GST's.

IMHO: If the EVO X is really your thing, then I'd get it. Trading an 07 STi for an EVO IX/VIII seems like such a waste of time; the bigger picture seems exactly the same, and personally I prefer a change in car-deology when getting a new whip. Keep in mind that the new X weighs a lot more than the outgoing IX.
Personally, around that kind of dough, I'd pick a 2011 Mustang GT. There I said it.

Here is a cool little power pages article from import tuner mag. 2010 X GSR $1200 in parts and they made 321 whp and 310 tq with a intake, exhaust, tune. Also shows the baseline of 265 whp so I'd say the flywheel power is a bit higher than 291?
