yea good point, but the look of the X looks more with the times, it makes the previous generation look dated. But hey if its all about performance esp, making power, the 4g63 would be the choice.
however, i hear there is a misconception on the X, saying it does not make power as easy, but ive seen some numbers to make me reconsider..

We have two evo X MRs in our customer base, with almost identical set ups; AMS FMIC, aux trans cooler, 2nd fuel pump, 1000cc injectors, TBE, e85 tuned.
In current form, both cars scare the **** out of me as daily drivers. Very fast, very agile, and with he proper brake pads, stop on a dime.
Parts are atrociously expensive; trans fluid change = $500 minimum, $2000 for front brakes, etc.
Clutch cost alone is silly expesive and time consuming.

I think he meant 2,000 for front brake pads + rotors. It would cost that much if you get high performance parts such as two piece rotors and some high end track pads. But for just stock/street replacements, I could find quality aftermarket parts for 600 to 700.

$2000 for front brakes? C'mon now... Stop spreading misinformation, they are brembos just like the STi and you know it's not $2000 for a brake pad change on the STi.

Each can of Mountain Goo = $150 & you'll need two cans...more if you're adding a much needed aux trans cooler.
Plus Filter = $150.
Plus labor.
Front brakes require two rotors...at $750 each(unless some non OE has made a replacement).
Plus pads.
Plus fluid.

Hawk Performance Ceramic pads: $129
This is all for the Evo X, and I'm certain you could find all of that cheaper than tire rack if you do a bit of leg work. Evo IX and older are cheaper.

So $325 + $125 + $10 = $460 for parts + 2 hour labor? So $660 out the door roughly.

You're comparing apples to carrots; I specifically gave prices for the Evo X MR, which use a two piece rotor.
MR is a fair comparison to an STi, performance/options/feature-wise.

Ive never been a "comfort *****", so the EVO X is looking more and more appealing to me, especially with the posts that you guys have provided. I'm really close to cleaning the hell out of my WRX STi (2007) and selling it to buy an EVO X... I don't care what my wife says, this car is what I want, and is what Ive always wanted! Ive wanted a real deal EVO since like 1997 but since they weren't available, I bought my 2.5RS, then my 06 WRX, and then finally my 07 WRX STi... I'm really happy with my STi, but would still love to have an EVO since it's my true love and calling. Id never leave this community, the only difference would be that I drive an EVO rather than an STi. I love how easily EVO's can be modded, I love the quick steering rack, I love the looks, I love the stiffness, I love the seats, I love everything about it!!! My wife would get upset, but I'm not too worried about that.
Damn, I really want an EVO X even more now!!! AHHHHH!
