I love the Evo X, I'd be all over one if I had the $$. Get one already!

isn't the 4B11T all aluminum now, no more cast-iron block?

wont it have the same "issues" that tuning STis have?

That would be interesting. But it is still at an advantage in other ways, even if that were true.

actually i think thats price per not for a pair... cheapest price i could find for the same rotors from other companies was about $1300 and they specifically stated it was "Sold as Pair".

still.. totally worth it, the MR is a beast.

Not practical and stand out waaaay too much. If I could get one as a second car, I'd totally do it, but as a primary one, no way.

Just spoke with Josh at Import Image Racing. That price is per pair.

Code:
amandyke: Hey Josh, Are those DB5000's rotors priced each or per pair: http://www.importimageracing.com/p/DBA-Front-Slottd-5000-Series-2Pc-BlackHat-08EVOX.html
ImportImageRace: per pair sir

Lots of great info in this thread, glad to see that since this is a Subaru oriented board and Im glad we can all be objective... We like all performance cars and that is what it's all about it.

I need to talk to my wife about this... It's funny, before she met me she didn't know the difference between an Astrovan and an Impreza hatch, Now she spots every single subie on the road, and when she sees an EVO she says things like "Stupid EVO!", lol. I don't know why she chooses one over the other since Ive always loved EVO's and have always admired them on the road while we were driving together... I have no idea where the rivalry came from with her... She doesn't talk to other people about cars, and she didn't know that Subies and EVOs are mortal enemies to a lot of people.

I don't understand why people can't just love both cars? Both are what they are, both have their strengths and both have their weaknesses, but most importantly, both are performance cars that can destroy cars that cost 4x as much as they do, and not only that, but they are FUN to drive and very forgiving.

I love the EVO's active YAW control, it makes it soooo forgiving and soooooo controllable! Such an easy car to drive with so much reward. You can make the Subie handle really well (as precise as the EVO, but it takes some mods), just like you can make the EVO feel as solid and comfortable as the Subie, it just takes some money and time... But that's what makes these two cars great, they both respond REALLY well to modifications!

I'll never stop loving my STi (or my old WRX, or my old RS), I just feel that it's time to switch it up a little. Maybe I can just dump some more money into the STi and have my thrill that way?

Also, I'd want a 5speed NON-MR... Ive heard some bad things about the MR's, and have heard all great things about the 5speed.

I'm possibly open to buying a pre-X EVO too... Just afraid of used and abused cars, it would have to have SUPER low milage. Dream color would be white, if not white then I'd love that electric blue (darker than WRB), and possibly Red like the old TOMMI car scheme

Well, ****...I could sell the same rotors for $800/pr.
I wouldn't stay in business for long.

Are you looking for a new or used one? I was so tempted when they first came out as I was in the market for a new car. They are very nice! I see used ones listed at good prices on CL sometimes.

My brother tells me that the 4B11T can push similar power as the 4G63 without much issue.
