Angry I think someone tried to break into my car?

went outside to my car the other day after having it parked outside all night (brothers house near 167th/foothill)...noticed something weird with my drivers side door key lock, it was not how it normally is...take a look, and my lock isnt even visible. it was pushed back and down into my door, and now is bouncing around inside my door...

the car still unlocks and locks with the keyless, but when the door is locked, you can pop the door open, but it wont open all the way...

where do i take my car to get this fixed? i dont want to have to buy new locks, as im pretty sure the lock is still useable, just not where its supposed to be...

any advice? shops? dealership??

the same thing happened to me a while ago with my '02 WRX. I believe the nut/screw securing the lock core (or whatever it's called) simply backed out over time and fell into the door.

It should be easy to fix... just undo a screw or two and pull apart the inner door panel (sorry, I don't have the instructions handy but you should be able to find them on scoobymods, etc.). I think I had to tear through some clear plastic in order to access the lock and nut/screw.

Here's the original thread I posted a few years ago!

this happened to my 02 as well, i've been to lazy to fix it but need to get on it. With mine you can manually push down the lock mechanism and you can get into the car but when you open the door the alarm goes off.
