Glen, next time you and I meet up I want you to take my car for a quick spin while doing some agressive cornering to see exactly how much safer the sparco seat is than the stock seat... Also, in the case of a roll over I'd probably die in the stock seats because they naturally sit so high so my neck would probably break... The Sparco seats sit sooooo much lower which not only gives you a much lower center of gravity but it gives you a really large gap between the ceiling and the top of your head, that's something people should remember.

When I first go my car I felt so unsafe because the stock STi seats sat so high that I started to worry about potential rollovers where the roof would cave in and possibly break my neck or induce a great deal of head trauma... The sparco seat I have no sits further back and lower which protects me in the case of a rollover. You're a tall guy so I know you probably worry about the same thing.

Seriously, next time we meet up we'll go for a drive so you can try out the Sparco EVO 2 that I have... Holds you in so tightly and improves handling soooooo much since you're firmly in place and don't have to worry about anything but turining the steering wheel (no need to hold on and slide around). I can no longer drive a car with stock seats, I feel like Im going to fall out... I'm not kidding either! This EVO 2 has spoiled me greatly.
You're on Danny, I've been dying to try out some proper seats custom fitted for tall guys like us.

Then its good you only got the short version of the accident story. Most tell me it sounds like it was out of a horror movie when they hear the full story. Least that's what they tell me. I relive the accident often and its no fun at all.

The side airbag really is a joke in terms of protecting you on a high speed side impact. It might help in a 20mph accident but if someone hits you going 60mph against your door then you're screwed with or without an airbag (Meaning that if someone hit you STRAIGHT ON, no angle to dissipate the force of the accident, I'm talking a 90 degree hit straight into the drives side).

Two of my friends are Farmers Insurance adjusters who come out to check the car after you get into an accident and both said it wouldn't matter what so ever.

If you want protection from getting t-boned when someone runs a light, that side airbag is useful. I don't see how you can deny that, I agree it's a waste in most situations but that is the one where it actually makes a difference. Theres a reason it's 5 star all around safety rating.

BTW 02-03 wrx seats suck, humble opinion. Also if you pay 800 for them, well hey I have some special dirt from my backyard I'll sell you 1,000 dollars a bucket.

The bugeye seats are pretty good, and I've seen them going for maybe a few hundred at most.
