I have also been checking craigslist, bajobs.com, santacruzjobs.com, and hotjobs.com.

If I remember correctly you do digital multimedia/graphics right?
Check the following areas of CL:

or just do a general search. There are a lot of side jobs you can pickup on craigslist.

I applied for NHS Inc.

I check craigslist pretty much every day now. No luck. Not much going on out on this side of town but at this point I'll take just about anything...and yea it's graphics that I do. Print.

Don't worry man, if your friend went to work in technical support there, he is in for a misserable ride.
I know 3 people all from different levels of support there, your friend will be lucky to last a year.

 

I don't know if this will help at all, but Stanford University has a great job-finding site for their jobs. I'm not sure they'll have something you're interested in, but it's a great resource that's helped me and some of my friends out a few times.
