I use to have a VW that the motor had to come out every 10k for new pistons and sleeves. However to be fair it was a 2180 and running at the limit of size/strength.

Like I said, I drive the thing like its stolen. It lives at 3500 rpm on the freeway, I get on it and run her up to 6k every shift, I am not easy on it.

I'll post up the estimate later. That is turn-key with Mann taking care of the R&R and full head rebuild

I don't think I'm violating any secrecy so here's a copy of the estimate.

I've done a bunch of research, the engine stuff is pretty much as cheap as I've found it. Mann's labor rate is higher than some other shops, but they already know the situation and I'm sure after towing costs the savings by taking the car elsewhere would be minor if anything
