all you gotta do is replace a one inch section of fuel line with a two inch section of fuel line.

no need to stress or take it to the dealer. takes like ten minutes.

Nothing for CA at the moment.
Which is pretty lame, just because it doesn't snow, doesn't mean it doesn't get cold enough to have this issue. Luckily LIC fixes it for $100

9 more days of that ****ty smell.

You could do the job yourself for almost free.

Yeah, Subaru is dealing with the issue where the problems are first. At least the most reported problems.

IIRC, LIC used to fix the problem by tightening the existing clamps. This can work, but isn't a guaranteed solution.

The clamps on my fuel lines were tightened by AutoHQ, and it helped for a couple of years, but the problem has returned.

I wonder why the dealers are quoting > $700 and 6 hours of labour? I thought that you needed to remove a lot of stuff to get to the fuel lines.

I had the TSB update parts put in with my 2nd motor, but still had the problem until Adam did his $100 "special trick" on it- which I think involves some fuel line clamp positioning changes as well as tightening stuff, but in 8 years of driving the car- the time after LIC had it until that motor blew was the only time I didn't have cold fuel leak issues.

Now I have it happening on motor #3...

Interesting... I wonder if they are swapping out any of the fuel hose in their tweak? Obviously for $100, it must involve less dismantling than the official fix. I'd be seriously pissed off if I'd had the TSB done and it still leaked. If the Subaru warantee thing doesn't workout, I'll give LIC a call.

How many miles did you put on the first motor before it blew? How many miles on the chassis now?

Also, when you change your oil (originally to now), what do you use and at what mileage? For example, Amsoil 5w30 & stock filter @ 5k miles

Sorry for all the questions.
