I havent started the motor in about 5yrs...is it still good?
Onemanarmy hit it on the nose.
Last time I did a old nova, it was a 350 that had sat for 8 years. Pulled the plugs, changed the oil to a super light weight, and plumed the gas to a 5 gallon sitting on the floor. Dumped some mystery oil into each cyl(just a tiny squirt will do) and some across the cams (pulled the valve cover). Then hand turned the crank 40-50 times...spun it with the starter after that for a few second bumps 10 times..tossed theplugs back in and *VARROOM* she fired right up.

Marvel Mystery oil is the sheez!! Had a 66 mustang that sat for maybe 15 years. Pulled the plugs and sprayed some mmo in the cylinders, changed the oil, fresh battery, fresh fuel, new plugs, and if fired right right up! The carb, and tank had been drained of fuel so I did not have to scrape out the varnish that it turns into, I love it when people plan ahead.
