In china there is local corruption but those in true power are committed to progress.
In America it is the opposite.
in a nutshell thats pretty much true. and its not an un-patriotic thing to say, its simply the state of the world. the beauty of democracy and freedom is the right to question your leaders' goals and intentions. but it is unfortunate that china did not even start thinking about these until rights they 'sold out' to the WTO. they've traded imitation designer products for moral responsibility.

I'd say China has worse problems...

China Fields Eighteen Mobile Execution Vans

"Modernization in China rolls on with eighteen mobile execution vans on the prowl to fulfill the edicts of the Intermediate Courts of the southern province of Yunnan as well as the cities of Harbin and Shanghai. [...]

The new $60,000 execution "death on wheels" vans are converted 24-seater buses. The vehicles look like ordinary police vans except they are marked with the Chinese word "court". The windowless execution chamber at the back contains a metal bed on which the prisoner is strapped down. A police officer presses a button and an automatic syringe plunges a lethal drug into the prisoner's vein. The execution can be watched on a video monitor next to the driver's seat and be recorded if required.

Sixty-eight different crimes - more than half non-violent offenses such as tax evasion and drug smuggling - are punishable by death in China. That means the death vans are likely to keep rolling.

China's legal system executes an estimated 15,000 people per year and allows only one appeal. When appeals against the death penalty are rejected, the sentence is carried out immediately, sometimes within hours."

And you think they'd have a problem with that? I'll bet they wouldn't even bother waiting for the 'Death Bus'.

"Dogs being walked were taken from their owners and beaten to death on the spot, it said." Wow... i bet if anything like that happened to anyone in the Chinese government they would reconsider stupid actions like this.

There are some points we should note, this is jmho:

In the US, dogs are not just animals, they are companions to human. But in China, to most people, dogs are just animals. So by them killing dogs with bats (i don't know how true that is) is like us killing flies with a fly swatter. Different cultures, different values.

Also, killing so many dogs because 3 people died due to rabbies doesn't make much sense...unless 1 of those people who died is your love one right?

Dog owners in China are not as responsible as dog owners here. They may not take their dogs for annual shots.

Actually, I was shocked that the Chinese govt actually did something just becasuse only 3 people died.

Peace.

No I don't think they would have a problem with it. It still doesn't change anything. I walk my dog, gun in hand just waiting. I'd take a couple with me before I die.

Can people stop equating China w/ communism. There is nowhere in the world where communism is actually practiced. China practices socialism, just like us.
