Great... China gets to use our best weapons...

http://www.washtimes.com/national/20...1331-1903r.htm

Here's my conspiracy theory: China and Taiwan are playing us to get our latest weaponry... "supposedly" to protect Taiwan from China.

Bad move if you ask me.

nice try...if you grew up with both chinese & taiwanese families, you will realize how much some taiwanese HATE their mainland counterparts. i have some taiwanese friends who will never tolerate being labeled "chinese"...they insist that they are "taiwanese" in nationality.

Which is pretty much the whole reason that Bejing is PO'd at us for this, the Taiwanese see themselves as a seperate country just like the Tibetans did, and the US has allowed trade with Taiwan all along, only opening trade with mainland China in the last 10 years.

Mainland is now taking a lot of the work that Taiwan used to get, so the Taiwanese are PO'd at the mainland, the mainland is PO'd at them, yet they are both still taking jobs, money, and weapons from the US.

But to Bejing, Taiwan has "always been part of China" and I expect they are looking forward to taking it back some day, much as they did Tibet.

Well, I understand some of those underlying issues, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

It's not like the U.S. would go to war to stop them from taking it back... China would kick our ***.

Actually I read in the paper that Washington has said that it will help defend Taiwan if invaded by China.

China is trying to find a way to get Taiwan back "under control" within the next couple of years... supposedly through diplomatic channels. They are "sick" of the freedoms allow to Taiwan recently. Elections, relative autonomy, etc.

What a mess...

Not according to the PNAC goons, they think the US is ready to take on any country anywhere in the world, but for now they're focused on those that we need for our uh ... "energy policy"

I forgot when it was, but China carried out some missile tests by firing missiles into the Pacific Ocean, not too far from Taiwan. China is intent on liberating this Chinese province from Capitalists and Taiwan is steadfast in their resolve to remain independent.

It's true that Washington stated that we will step in if China invades Taiwan; frankly, I'm curious to see what the US will do if China does invade.

*tick, tick, tick,.......*

Actually we are completely invloved in any thing that starts between Taiwan and China. Any action against Taiwan by the Chinese will be met with full resistance by the US. Oops Ive said to much.

Yeah... too bad Clinton gave them all of our technology.... otherwise they'd be throwing rice-stick noodles at our troops instead of missiles.

Too bad we give them zillions of dollars of our currency in exchange for plastic junk, because they are using that to buy more goodies from the Russians than Slick Willie ever gave away.
