After talking with everyone on this site, I have stopped doing that(I only did it a couple of times). I'm am so worried that the tranny might break and SOA might not fix it. I baby the car now. If I knew that it would have caused all this High School drama, I wouldn't have posted.

Hey here's the deal. Two things. A. Don't be an idiot about your car, and B. Take it to the best dealer in the bay area - Santa Cruz Subaru.

A. I agree with you - a clutch drop once in a while isn't the end of the world. Drive it fast, have fun with it, but don't be an idiot. Side-stepping the clutch at 5,000rpm's once a week is going to kill your clutch and/or 1st gear sooner or later, so don't do it if you want SOA to warrenty it. On the other hand, "spirited" driving is what the WRX was built for. If you drive your car hard, great. Do it in moderation, never beat on your car if it's not at operating temperature yet (watch - after a couple minutes on the freeway you'll see exactly where the temp is supposed to be). 5-10 minutes before the end of a "spirited" driving session get off the boost to let the turbo cool down. It's all about moderation and common sense. Drive it hard and have fun with it definitely, but do it within reason.

B. I'm not lying they're awesome - take your car to Subaru Santa Cruz for services, take it there for fun to chat with Mark, Bruce and Ben etc. Don't be a know-it-all *****, these guys have been collectively working on Subaru's probably twice as many years as most of us have been alive. If you are polite and friendly to the service managers, they will do everything in their power to make sure you get a fair deal on your warrenty repair.

Just my 2cents
