OK so we get our warranty voided for lame things like having a turbo timer downpipes sway bars balding the side tread on our tires.. and basically everything is our fault cause we spiritly drive

but Subaru is releasing this...

does SOA still give the free membership to the SCCA too???

What's the point? If they know you take the car to an SCCA event & compete, then guess what???

Warranty = teh 0wn4g3.

Sigh.

Because the car is sporty, and is sold as such by the manufacturer, doesn't give you the right to mod it to hell and expect warranty coverage on the whole car.

Saying "they void warranties" is pretty dumb. If you have aftermarket suspension, and a wheel bearing goes out, should they cover the repair? bah i'm too tired to fight. lol

party on wayne.

i have yet to do a warranty claim.

how are the local dealers? i know that santa cruz sells SPT stuff and i think COBB so they are friendly.

but i can understand if an aftermarket piece is on the broken part of the car...

I dont understand SOA???

After I bought my car, I was draging against my friends. I was then warned by someone that has owned a wrx, not to drop the clutch. He said that I could break something. I said, who cares, thats why I have warranty. He said that SOA wont replace the tranny, do to as you guys said above "spirited driving." I went to a couple of meets and talked with a few guys about it and asked them about that and most guys said, "the car is not meant for draging." And my response to all of them, "then they shouldn't advertise on tv, 0-60 in 5.4 secs" The problem with SOA is that they use this sales pitch stating that this car is a race car. I dont know if you guys have seen it, but one commercial has a couple of subaru's cars and each car has a nickname, and the wrx is "boost" Every commercial about the wrx is about racing. So I dont understand why SOA wont replace the tranny, and their reason for not replacing it is "spirited driving?" Its all just a bunch of BS! Sorry, but I had to vent.

Case of left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing,
marketing and sales are different departments from the warranty and service departments
hell, event he marketing and sales don't agree every so often,
so why do you think that two, almost completely different sides of business would agree?
marketing/sales is suppose to make money for the company,
warranty and service is suppose to make sure that the company doesn't lose money for fixing stuff for free when its your fault and not their's

be lucky that there's even a pretty solid warranty on the car,
the warranty idea is half legal requirement, half good will to the customer
and goodwill is only a gamble on making more money.

Dumb?

NO DUMB is the numerous commercials showing the car redlining and power sliding on a dirt road and then SOA denying your warranty after your wheel bearing goes out for doing that in your car.. and blaming it on spirited driving

that’s dumb and that’s what I’m talking about... among other dumb things.. whitezkinpizza

saying a 0-60 time is anything but an endorsement for a ****ing darg car you n00b.

I have seen mini vans with 0-60 times. Does it mean they are pushing it as the next great dragster? NO its just a measure of performance that most people can understand. Im sure they would put in 100-0 times as well if half as many people knew wtf that meant.
