Jason, you don't realize how good we have it here in CA.
In CT, within a 4 hour drive, I can think of only 1 drag strip, and a handful of 1/8 mile oval tracks and of course, lime rock.

Chris... like my post said, because it is worse in other places (and I do agree with you) doesn't change the objective truth that it still sucks to get to the track from any part of the urban bay area (i.e. where most of the people are) and it still costs me $200 a pop. Maybe it just sucks all over? Maybe there need to be tracks all over... of course maybe people just need to stop street racing.
And let me say again, even so, it still does not legitimize street racing.
(side note: What would be interesting though, is to find a statistic that shows the percentage of accidents caused by street racing. My honest guess would be that the percentage of people eating Mikey D's while driving causes more accidents... hey maybe we can sue
