I agree with the no refunds... in fact, I honestly dont understand why you'd even think of giving refunds, it just makes people feel like it doesn't matter if they back out. I'm all for it like I said before, just so long as its no farther than Thunderhill (still has my vote) and its on a weekend or holiday.

Thunderhill sounds good to me

Speaking selfishly only for myself, weekdays are better 'cause I can take a day off. Whereas weekends are for the family, and I can't convince my wife to come out (with the baby) and watch me drive at "insane speeds".

Also, I agree, pay in advance, no refunds, that's life. I mean, come on, why should anybody else have to pay for you if you flake out? That is completely unreasonable.

I saw BW over Thill. The BW teack is faster and the people there were WAY cool!!! Thill is nice too...but I like BW better.

I agree with the weekday though my g/f was with me for 4 of 5 sessions last time. If it's farther than T-Hill tho, I am out.

Thumbs up

If you guys put something together, I'm down! I pull the fees out of my a$$ somehow. I've never been to a track day before, but I really want to get my car out there.

Paying in advance w/ no refund is the best way, and Thunderhill is a nice track with nice elevation changes (although I've never been to Buttonwillow). Laguna and Infenion might be a little too much, especiallly now, when everyone wants to be out there in this weather.

Thunderhill is the best bet for the rookeis. BW was ok but pretty damn far compaired to Sears or TH.

I'd be up for TH or Sears.

Last year Egan and I put together a track day with unlimited laps @ thunderhill. But because of the lack of people we were only able to do a semi-exclusive subaru day. We were able to come up with about 20 to 25 people to come out and have fun. Sponsership totally helped reduce the cost of the event.

But we were sweating it up to the very end. We had to front the deposit and if we hadn't reached our minimum number of Subies, we were going to have to pay the difference. It's a total PITA trying to round up enough folks and I don't think I would do it again. At one point we had 40+ drivers interested, but once it came time to pay up, we ended up with less than 25, IIRC.

The event was a total blast, but I would have loved to have an exclusive Subaru event. That would have meant 50-60 cars to break even, which is quite a stretch. A lot of folks bailed out because the finalized date was a weekday, which is understandable. You just have to remember that track fees are a lot more expensive on the weekends and that's why most of the clubs run during the week.

Good luck to whoever gets this going. Keep us all posted - I willl defintely be there.

Egan and lowball

The event last year was a blast. I liked the fact that unlimited ran Thill without any cone chicanes and over 5. Totally changed the track

I'm down for this yr.

Laguna would be nice but is quite expensive, headed there monday because I haven't ran there before.

Never tried BW, would be nice to hit something new.

That was a great event Egan/Lowball. And UnlimitedLaps kept everything under control and well organized as well. Thanks again for setting that up. (although I was already signed up before) =)
