That sounds like a great idea. Perhaps Alex would be interested in doing it again if we adopted the no-refund policy. I thought he ran a first rate event last year.

perhaps maybe a deadline like 2 weeks before the acutally day that way we can take care of refunds before hand. so if the track day is 6/20 give them till 6/5 to file for refund and after that ur either going or not.

I think that who ever "Sponsers" this thing will have to pay for the track fees way in advance. People just need to make a commitment and stick with it. It's kinda like planning a vacation with out the insurance.

Did the $3500 for the track include course workers, EMT's and such?
The last event I went to was one setup by Unlimited Laps I believe, and the Subaru Club's were able to join for a discount....maybe something could be done like that again?

Wait, can we bring our track car instead of our Subaru? Haha..

I vote for T-Hill as well for many reasons. Laguna is sweet but very cost prohibitive as well as the aforementioned soundcheck problem. I doubt anything I own would make it past turn 6 without a black flag.
The competition is there - you're a winner if you drive your car home. Low lap times, excellent corner execution are all nice by-products of not being an idiot on the track.

Piggybacking on an event like this is the best idea overall......many more people and opp's for flexible signup/refunds if necessary.

I think the big question is if Alex want's to step up again and be our hero? Last year he did a great job and this years event will only be as good as it's planner. As for the track, T-Hill will work but I think Button willow is more centralized for all of Kalifornias I-Club members. I have ran both and will run either. The more important issue is can we make this happen???? I hope so....

As far as "Piggy Backing" someone elses track day. There are some advantages as far as refunds and such but I think that much of the charm of last years event was the fact that it was I-Club only. It allowed us or forced us to get to know people from our own club. I also would rather not share the track with pickup trucks and rental cars as I have with events ran by other groups that must turn a profit so they sell every available inch of track.
Theres also nothing saying that we can't do this several times this summer. Perhaps we a I-Club only event and a Nasa and a Unlimited Laps day as well. That way we can all expirence several different tracks.
