Humboldt County thread
Ha ha ha...so I ordered my throttle position sensor on Wednesday. I get an email from the guy saying he has the part in stock and it'll ship in the 27th. Never mind that the 27th is three days after I place my order. I finally got another email today notifying me that the part had been shipped.
What a crock of ****...Almost a week to process an order and ship it out. I'm glad they charged me $8 for shipping. Bastards.

Why do you assume that every parts place stocks every part all the time?
If it is an obscure item, especially on a car that is not currently in production, it is perfectly reasonable that it would take them a couple days to get the part from a distribution center.
Add to that a weekend, shipping time for them and for you, and a day maybe 2 to process, and it is perfectly reasonable for it to take a week.
As for the $8, have you shipped anything lately? I hate to say it, but $5-10 for USPS Priority, Fedex, or UPS is pretty standard for a small item. After figuring in a couple bucks worth of labor to package the item, print labels etc. $8 is not too bad.
At any rate, I go through Subaru Parts.com Andrew is a good guy. I no longer go through Subaru Genuine Parts. They may be a couple bucks cheaper, but that Jaime (SubyGal) is a *****, and I refuse to support a business that employs her.
Ya know, McCrea Nissan/Subaru takes care of you too, and it pays to shop local. They will hook up discounts for repeat customers...

The point is that he notified me that he had the part in his warehouse the day that I ordered it but he couldn't ship it until 3 days later? 72 hours seems like a lot of time to process an order. Not only does it seem like a lengthy turn over but the guy didn't even make his own deadline.
A good number of places are giving free S+H with orders in excess of $100. Paying $8 for an order to go from placement to actually being shipped seems like a long time. I'll have to double check who I ordered with.
