Ya Ed "a lot of" and "really" were exaggerations, but I did not think about the specific wording of that statement. It was a point of conversation. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe my point came across.
You have a following that feels you can do no wrong, and if someone questions that they jump on that person online and in PM. This is not specific to that one issue, and a simple NASIOC/IWSTI/I-club search will demonstrate that. I believe this is in poor taste, but they can do whatever they want. It does, however, reflect on your business regardless of whether you actually perpetuate this behavior, and it creates generalizations regarding the customers that you serve.
Nobody in this thread should take offense, as this applies to none of them
This is a business based largely on word of mouf (Luda reference
), especially in the Bay/Sac area. It is prudent to ask questions and supply feedback. These threads are not going anywhere, and they will serve as references in the future. For those of us that do not live close yet rely on that area for services, these threads are vital. I cannot afford to go through my own trial and error nor should I have to in the age of wireless everything and Google. (BTW I love how my spell check corrects me when I do not capitalize google hahaha.)
If someone shares information it should be expected that the sharper folks will ask questions. The day we stop asking questions is the day America becomes a truly fascist society. It is bad enough that our government discourages us from asking questions, but when the public adopts that attitude we have a scary situation (thanksfully not "The Situation" hahaha). Nobody should be discouraged from asking questions except in very specific situations and topics where it would obviously be offensive. Business is NOT one of those topics.
Besides, you know as well as I do that you have asked your share of questions regarding other shops and tuners work. Does this make you a bad guy? Of course not...unless you had gone about it without tact.
Having tact goes a long way...especially for a vendor. Having to pay bills and put food on the table is a good reason to be respectful and watch what you say regardless of context. Is tact required? No, but it never hurts to be the good guy.
Any reasonable person knows that there is always two sides to a situation Without going into detail I will just say that the best thing to do IMO is to walk away. I say this mostly as a customer. I will have more respect for the shop/tuner that turns the other cheek than the one that gets drawn into an e-battle. If there is no valid reason to be defensive, then there is no need to state a defense. But, as you said Ed, it was not out of line to get defensive...I just feel it was not needed

One a lighter note, thanks for the data on Taylor's car. I will have to actually see it ones of these days lol.
I cannot wait for E85 up here.
That reminds me: when everyone gets the time could you call Renner and ask them about E85...and if you don't mind, tell them you want a pump in Fortuna
Current plans are for pumps in Arcata, Eureka, Garberville, Willow Creek, and McKinleyville. I dunno WTF is up with Willow Creek and the Arcata Macktown thing (they are 5 miles apart WTF), but I already have all the Suby/Evo/Muscle guys on board down here.

Post meet discussion leads to vehicle performance and specs leads to vendor review leads to questions of philosophy leads to facism in America. It's a slippery slope found only beyond the Emerald Curtain. =)

Let me know if you ever look into selling it
Meh I need to get some work done. When I am done I am heading back into town to swap my taillights with some 04-05 tails though.
Any interested in another meet? I know it's a ways off but March 7th (that'd make it the first Sunday of the month) might work nicely unless people would like to get together sooner. 5pm seems to work for most people especially when it's not Super Bowl Sunday. Big Pete's in Eureka was a solid spot even though I hate going to Eureka for anything but Costco. My prime suggestion is Tony's in north Arcata right off Giuntoli exit.
Figure its never too early to start laying things out. I'd be down for something this month as well but I know ViperWRX still has that exhaust leak to handle.

Hopefully I can install that tonight, but if not then when I get back. As soon as I get that solved I am making an appt for a tune and the following weekend I will go get that done! Sooo I was thinking if instead of a sunday meet we could meet on a Saturday, atleast once in a while? Just throwing that out there, as I get weekends off and I have to work early monday mornin, its a 1hr 30min drive for me (goin the speed limit) :P

The white one with DirtyImpreza stickers or the black one with the mud flaps?
Also meeting up at Figuredos in McKinleyville at 5:30pm for a short drive/cruise. We're probably going to shoot up Fieldbrook towards Blue Lake. It's late notice but anyone else want to join us?
