The heads are a little less agressive also.

Hit me up this weekend stranger. I thought with three fires in N.Cal you would be @ one of them.

I am down for a drive people. I hit up Matole last weekend, who's down for Kneeland to Bridgeville or even some N.County exploring?

Rollcall for a Sat or Sund drive (whichever fits people's schedules the best).

ya, I was actually in idaho the last 16 days. 3 days off then I am back at it. I am down for a drive not sure when yet tho. Let me get some **** straight and get back to you guys.

Oh, and the heads on my 2.5 are 8:4:1 compression ratio, the STI has 8:2:1. Less compression is probably better for higher boost....so make of that what you will.

Sounds good.

On the heads, the Forester 2.5 and WRX 2.5 IIRC have different heads.

Does anyone here know of a good local machine shop that has experience with subaru heads?

Sorry if this is a little off topic, I didn't know where to post this.

I would not take any import heads ANYWHERE in humboldt county except for S&H Machine in Fartuna. They are very **** and completely capable. Just make sure you bring the specs you want to them and they will take care of you.

That's funny, I drove Petrolia to Honeydew and apart from about 200 yards it was all paved yesterday(?)

Unless you weren't on Mattole road and found some hidden secret backroad

I remember a section about 15-20 miles after Petrolia headed towards Honeydew that fits his description. Uphill switchbacks in dirt....probably 2-3 miles of it.

Maybe it was after Honeydew, but I dont think so. That was 6-8 months ago tho.

On a side night the drags were cool last night. That is, except for that goddamned blue Evo :P Time for an FP Green me thinks lol. I guess I should just wait till I can get my Full Race GT-30 or 35 twinscroll setup.

Now that I have some SIIIIICCCCKKKK *** seats, I can zave for my tranny swap.

Edit: Nothing is off topic here if it relates to Humboldt

Ah, maybe we're referring to the Wilder Ridge road, thats south of Honeydew towards Ettersburg, it has some unpaved switchbacks, but only 0.385mi is actually dirt (I measured that yesterday too.)

Honeydew isn't but only about 14 miles from Petrolia, The bridge by the restaurant as you come into Petrolia is 13.222 miles from HD.

ya, I think that could be the road. I haven't been there in a while, so it probably is. My friend Gregg just confirmed it in fact.

Let me help pinpoint it for you. We left A.W. Way camground about 4 miles south of Petrolia. We headed south on the Matole for about 10-15 miles. Hit the dirt section that is apprx half mile to 1 mile. South bound it is a crazy up hill, northbound it's a ***** to the wall down hill (open you diff if you can ). This is on the way to Shelter Cove from Petrolia.

Matole become Wilder Ridge, looks like I was a little south of HD.

Lat 40°12'58.03"N

Long 124° 6'25.07"W

Check it out, it's crazy fun. that road from Honeydew to Shelter Cove is hairball fun.

Tomorrow is the last day to sign up for the Redwood Rendezvous, are we going to have any "local" teams running with us? or is it just going to be a city slickers invasion?
