Well, trust me I spend the $. I shouldn't have said crazy expensive. There are no nice top mounts on the market right now. Period. And they are all being sold for like 300. Negative negative. I think I'll give this top mount a try...I just wanted to make sure this is what a polished sti tmic looks like, with the logo gone and everything. The guy sounds legit, and has a family with four kids. Maybe I'll get lucky, I mean hes gotta be a family man right? :P. It was pulled from use from what he says. I guess I'll find out the hard way.

I read a story some where about a polished TMIC that leaked badly.

To me it looks like a WRX core.

I counted 33 columns, so it should be a STI TMIC. As for polishing off the logo...it probably wasn't polished off but taken off with paint remover or something. I bought a STI TMIC off ebay that didn't have the STI logo either. When I look at my TMIC straight on, there is no STI logo, but if I look at it from certain angles, I can kind of still see where the STI logo was.
Why don't you ask the guy to take a picture of the plate with the part number on it? STI TMIC should have part number SIC TM0100 for USDM and SIC TM0030 for JDM.
