hiatus over
before i hijacked a 2nd thread on the subject, i'll just post here.
been alright... and yeah, my hiatus is over. its kinda jacked but a company i was doing a contract for stiffed me for 30k so i ended up not being able to fix my wrx like i was wanting and it kinda urked me enough to not do contracts anymore. been focusing on finding fulltime employment in the livermore area lately. anyway, yeah im going to be rebuilding my engine (had a weird knock tho the motor had full power until timing was pulled from the metal on metal knock). ive definitely got some plans tho. my girlfriend's family is in africa and they all rally imprezas and she used to be her brothers navi. most of our early dates included lots of twisty roads, lol. anyway, plans are to fix it up and start doing some time rally stuff and once its fully built (still need suspension/roll cage/etc) try and do some rallyx type events. i helped restore a horse trailer for my parents (lots of sanding, painting, etc) and talked them into getting a bunch of pneumatic tools so i'll be able to do it with a little bit more ease.

Sucks that you got stiffed for 30k like that, WTF is up with that!?
REALLY glad to hear you're back on the beat and your subie is going to get fixed and be loved again. Best of luck with the rebuild and congrats on the awesome GF + rally family! My wife doesn't know the difference between a Miata and a big rig, she's "car blind".

yeah, it was pretty lame. i had a contract for 10k a month for some pretty intense IT work and the first 3 months went fine. the other months there were problems with urgency, employees shifting around, and they had me working on just a verbal commitment (i even have emails of the company saying that they owe me for the work i'd done). only problem is i was actually subcontracted and the guy who i was going through ended up going bankrupt during those 3 months. i just pretend all the napster/torrenting makes it even and practice my meditating.

Cafe Zen not only has the most amazing deserts that I've had in recent years, but the food is really delicious as well, and for decent prices too. Picture Tapioca Express on steroids, crack, and meth all at the same time... That's Cafe Zen (Minus the whole bad image of drugs, I was just referring to how much "more" Zen was than TE... )

Yeah man, you should. I'll be there to hand out the remainder of the BAM shirts... Come out dude, we haven't seen you in like 5 years! It'll be a bunch of people you don't know, but Aaron and I will be there, and sometimes Gagan makes it out too. Come show your face and meet some new people... Good folks show up every week and it's a nice meet with some great shops to go to in the complex (unlike UCKK, which had some decent shops like KK and Jamba juice, but cafe zen kicks the crap out of all those shops put together, and plus there are a dozen other great restaurants/fast food/ice cream/soft serve places within 100 yards of good old Cafe Zen.
