Its not my life style, I am actually the latter, I drive my car like it is supposed to. But I am speaking generally, who the F cares what others do. This question is so arbitrary, its like saying why the hell do people eat apples, oranges are so much better... RETARDED

I don't want people to smash on them. Running your car to reline some is not smashing on it. Nor is cornering hard. I just think it's wasteful and stupid in this day and age to waste your money on a performance car, if you never use the performance. The only reason to get one is so other people think you are cool or at least you think they do.
Bottom line is I respect people who use things for their intended use, and try not to waste. So if a car is designed for performance, say an sti............I think it's pretty goddamn stupid to buy one to noodle around in at low rpms and grandma it. If you are super rich and you do have money to purely waste, ok but you are still a dikhead

i don't get it.
also, you can say this about anything, not just cars.
why do people buy i-phones and not use every single possible feature? why do people buy snowboards and go once a year, down green and blue runs all day? why do people buy dirt jumping bikes and not jump them? why do people have pets like dogs and not play with them? why do people own books but never read? or buy 1000 RR insanely fast bikes at all? obviously rambling... lol but i think you get my point...
basically speaking, if i had the money to drop on a enzo, i would, and wouldn't mash on it everywhere i went, nor would i absolutely baby it and never hit redline... there's a happy medium of being satisfied, safe, have fun and not ruin your investment that we've worked so hard to build. i don't smash on my suby all day every day, cause i don't have $5k laying around to drop on stuff that breaks.

I can understand trying to keep a car nice with low milage but I personally don't buy the 'never been boosted hard' or 'babied' comments from sellers. And this is kinda anecdotal but I'm in the camp that thinks if you run a babied car hard, it could have more issues or it won't be as powerful as a car thats been ridden hard it's whole life. Comments on that aspect?
its kind of hard for me to baby my car...its just a bad driving habit i have. I told myself once that I'd baby my car for 1 tank of gas and see how many miles I'll get out of the tank. 2nd day I was going WOT on the ramp onto the freeway
I like to get good fuel economy, that's babysitting. I also like to go snowboarding and do snownuts, this is not babysitting. I spent a lot of money on my car so I want it to last me awhile, but I'm an enthusiast so most that money is on Performance parts... So what am I?

I baby my car, I wash it weekly, sometimes twice a week depending on weather. At first it was easy but............ driving past dirt roads and mudpits used to be easier in my integra. I couldnt resist. I'm always paying the the mud/dirt. Love AWD<3 Use it to the fullest. Bumper almost came off one time but **** happens. It's all fun.

I am one of those people that NEVER pushes the car to anywhere close to its limits. Never seen 5k!
For some reason I tend to corrolate gas pedal -> gas and prefer to save gas over wasting it for a little fun. I don't even drive a modded car, my car's completely stock and I drive very slowly all the time lol.

I shift at 3k-3.5k. My car's bone stock. I have no boost to worry about, it's a 2000 2.5RS. I just stay within the speed of traffic or the speed limit. I don't like attracting attention by driving like an ***, but I do love how my car looks. I can't afford speeding or fix it tickets either. I don't know how I fit into this topic, but I figured I'd throw in my two cents from my own POV. I could achieve the same "getting to point A to point B" purpose in a Honda Civic, but it's a car that won't feel the same at all.
