+1. QFT. why do people want others with nice cars to smash on them? who cares? it's their money. i have 308 awhp on a dd and hasn't seen a track day yet, but it may happen. it's nice to have the power available also. and driving around, thrashing your car, just means more maintenance and fixes along the way, which = more $.

I don't speed on city streets, maybe 70-75 on 101 on 280 but I let her open on the track and drive it hard why have 5k worth of suspenchion and a built engine if I don't drive it hard? I use my 400 plus hp car as a DD and it oust a smile on my face every time I drive it!

This thread is dumb.
I drive my car how I like to drive my car.
I haven't ever taken it to redline and for good reason.
I bought the car to go snowboarding and to last me for years and years.
You guys that drive your cars to the max are constantly working on something on the car....
So when my car hits 150k and is still running perfect...
You'll be on your third tranny and second engine... trying to figure out wtf the schhh schhh noise is under the hood that you swear wasn't there an hour ago before you starting running the car hard.

They might be, I have no idea. Another example a friend of mine owned a 05 sti with a dom3 and other mods on it. Got it tuned from Ed a long time ago when he didnt have his dyno. If he hadnt told me he put in 5k worth of mods on his car, I wouldnt have even known and I rode with him quite a few times. I think he was in it for the aesthetics but he never admit it.

These days my car isn't driven that hard because I'm either going to school or work, not much time for other stuff. However, she's been out on Laguna Seca and done a bit of Rally-x. She's had her fun, but I don't have time to go to fun places anymore.
And I'm one for responsibility, so she only gets pushed hard getting up to speed on the on ramp.

Even if he was, so what? To summarize, you made a thread citing your opinion - which, at the end of the day, is still your OPINION. Then you got your panties in a wad a couple of times when people disagreed with your OPINION.
At the end of the day,

When did i get my panties in a wad? I was trying to gain some perspective but only 2 people actually did that (4wd aspect and aesthetics). Majority were like "**** you" its my car but thats cool with me. I expected that =D

Negative, drove the crap out of my 05 nearly everyday went on a long backroad by where I loved, the height my pleasurable driving. At 50k had perfect compression no transmission problems nothing. The wrx and sti are meant to be driven. What good will your wrx be at 150k is pristine undriven condition, you think you'll still even want the car? you will have never really used it. Rather have a tired car at 150k that I had fun in any day. Otherwise i'd own a cheap civic.
