no thanks on the acceleration.

I'll take handling and balance any day. Thanks though.

Some prefer speed. I prefer balance and style.

WTH????

So you are telling us that the RX-8 has more balance and style over the Sti or EVO!!! What use is Handling is you have no power to come out of a turn? You might as well drive a base model honda or something. with an EVO or STi you can have all of that, and more.

But hell, have fun wiith your RX-8 with ALL it's balance and style

check into the Infinity G35 Coupe. Same motor and drivetrain as the 350Z, (mod friendly) cept you get back seats and a more luxurious interior

If I was in the market for an STI or an EVO, I'd get a G35 coupe ... but my kick *** GC8 will have to do

This just in:

SOA is performing an ECU reflash to STi's being delivered recently, which cuts power down to 275hp.

Don't go calling all the dealerships about this, because they're not allowed to talk about this.

SOA is watching this board, btw, so don't talk about what dealership you bring your modded car in to for service.

If you get an STi, Cal, take it to Shiv or some other tuner to have the ECU reflashed & optimized.

ME?

When the lease runs out in 2 years on my MY02 WRX, the next edition Lancer EVO sounds good, unless Subaru finally outlaws MacPherson struts in their cars.

Im not talking about drag racing. I am saying if the purpose of the car is to constantly carry 4 people you need to consider torque.

That is like buying a SUV with the purpose of carrying a full sized boat and buying an A4 wagon over a suburban because it has more "balance and style."

And, as pointed out, balance is highly dependant on power. Why does a m3 handle better than a 323? Suspension, sure...but it has absolutley nothing to do with power? What about an S4 over an A4? Power has alot to do with "balance" not just at illegal speeds, at every day normal driving speeds. Like if you are driving up a steep mountain road (ie to tahoe), try taking an uphill corner when the car wont even accellerate hard on a flat road. You'd better believe the weight shifts more when there is not enough power to carry the car through a turn.

What about a used S4? AWD, 4door, luxurious, reliable, powerful. I am sure you can find good lower mileage ones for around the proce of a g35. The g35 is nice

They just don't want you to realize how inferior the STi is to the Evo!

The STi is pretty overated IMHO.

I mean some of my more ricer friends worship it as the next supra or skyline or something...sheesh...

The STi is a GREAT car. I think that it is great, but if I am going to pick up a better handling car, with more modding potential, I am going to grab the Evo for 2-3 grand cheaper.

Plus, you have to love the Evo's lines, get the Evo 7 tails though...those rice boy Altezza's suck!

The Evo paint is much glossier too.

Just my opinion. If I am paing that kind of bread for a ride, I am going to get the superior ride.
