help me decide which car to buy!?!?
If you are looking for something fun and maybe more different, how about a vette? Great bang for the buck and you can get a year or two old one for same cost as the STi. Vettes also have decent reliability. S2K's are also nice/fun cars.
If you want to stick to the AWD platform, you should follow the pinging issues on the STi (I dont know much about it but have heard enough ppl complain about it).
Since I dont keep up with the evo forums I have no idea if there are any production issues with the evo.
Both are great vehicles IMO.
I wouldn't buy a car without test driving it first, maybe some generous baic'er will let you drive/ride in their STi, and I have a friend that has already test driven an evo, I can find out which dealership if they are hassling you.

If you can wait, just drive whatever for the time being and wait for the next EVO if that's what you want. It will supposedly have a 6 speed trans and it'll be faster than the current evo 8.

I say hold off and wait for the really good stuff to come out. the STi and EVO are just a steping stone for what's to come.
OR really do your homework on what's out now.
