2006 WRX.... Do you have the smog (air) pump installed? I'm pretty sure Subaru added that when the WRXs switched to 2.5L. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

No, I went to the ref to get the car certified so I could legally drive it on the streets and get smogged.

No I have not seen a smog mechanic. I said most of the stuff I did exept putting on a stock turbo and testing the fuel pressure I have no way to test it.

Yes, the car is completely stock besides the vf39, airpump functions.

What test is it failing? Idle or 2500RPM?

Have you tried logging the car to see what its doing?

I'm going to be out of town all next week, but if you're still having trouble by the time I get back, I'd be happy to check it out and figure out a fix. I've been helping quite a few people pass emissions lately. Makes me feel good to offset all those catless Subaru's running around .

Thanks

2500, used to fail HC at idle aswell, but that has been fixed with a few tuneup things, if you could shoot me a pm on what you would need me to log ill log everything needed and send it over.

I was suggesting to cut up an extra downpipe and weld it into a catted midpipe for extra measure.

easiest thing to do is just throw a catted up-pipe in there, that would knock the COs down no prob, yeah its a couple hours work but cesars been ****ing with this for 2 months, you should have listened to me in the first place bud!!

Lol, if he has no catted up-pipe, then adding one will definitely help pass. Also I'd be willing to lend you my stock turbo for the time being until you can pass smog (ie: for a day/weekend)

The STI turbo and tmic won't effect emissions at all. Swapping to the stock units won't help. The catted UP may help, although it was only meant for cold start. That's why they got rid of it when they added the cold start air pump in the 06 motor.

Thanks
