Alright dad told me to bring the car in cause I was told that the exhaust shouldn't matter just as long as its the clutch/tranny thats broken. Then when I dropped it off myself I went back there and asked one more time before I the paper that if my exhaust would be a problem and the guy said the same thing. Tomorrow (Today since its 4:26 right now), im going to be calling them back and seeing the problem.
Can I complain if they decide now that its their fault but wont fix it cause I do have an exhaust? I know in retail if you say something like that to the customer you could complain to the manager and crap and the manager should get it worked out on my side since if the dudes said otherwise I for sure wouldn't have came in with an exhaust.

there is no reason it shouldn't be warranteed. But if you wait too long and do any serious damage to the tranny you just increase your chances of getting denied.

My dad took my car there before to get it worked on and my exhaust wasnt a problem then, but I dont think it was for any tranny/clutch things.
Its time to go back to church and pray.

Man ill be hella pissed and go there in person to complain about this junk to them if they really do end up telling me "its cause of your exhaust". Not the fact that I have an exhaust but just that they told me 3 times now it would be okay if I had it and they'd fix it if was the trannys problem or else I would have never brought my car in like that.

ps. the dealership really isnt the one who decides either. It all comes down the the SOA Rep...they can say one thing...but the rep can say another, which is the one that matters

Unfortunately, I'm only going to be in San Jose, until Jan 2nd, and I'll have to wait till I'm back in socal to take it to a dealership

I've seen 3 times stock power put down on bone stock honda trannys. so sad that we spend so much on a car that is marketed as a performance car. Comes with an SCCA membership. Advertisements show cars on the track or blasting down dirt roads. But then they won't support stuff like this. .

ok it happened once again when I was driving today. happened from a 3rd to 4th gear shift on the highway from 3000rpm to lower.
it's happened before from 4000rpm to 5000rpm on a 5th gear to 4th gear shift sometimes too.
it's reproducable...but I mean it happens randomly. And i'm sure it's not that I'm pressing the clutch in too lightly or something.
I'm really not down for their hard shifting excuses for denying warranty =\.... I mean maybe if my 1st or 2nd...maybe even 3rd gear... but 4th and 5th gears are my cruising gears on the highway...so I don't really see how I could be shifting like a ricer in those gears.
I'm going to hit up the Riverside Subaru dealership when I get back to school after New Years...hopefully everything works out fine...

I finally talked to the dudes about my car today. They took apart my clutch+transmission and said the problem was a fork thats inside the transmission. My gears were all in good shape but the fork that broke was my fault due to heavy/hard shifting. Under my warranty they're giving me a brand new clutch + flywheel and I just have to pay for the labor and a new fork.
$750 for taking the car apart.
$160 for the new fork.
$??? for putting in the new fork and putting transmission back.
Free Clutch+Flywheel
$1311 is their total and they're giving me another 2k Mile/1 Year warranty on the car even if its not the tranny/clutch.
Was calling Gruppe-S about it but my dad just said he'd pay for it and make sure I ask them for a loaner since DeAnza is going to be starting next week and it wont be done for about 1.5 weeks since they got to order the fork.

That's a great deal if they actually give you a free clutch and flywheel, most places to take a tranny out and then crack the case and rebuld/reinstall onto car would be $1k minimum so for what your getting I would say bargain.
How do they know your heavy shifting? If it's your fault cause your shifting so hard there is no way they would give you a free clutch and flywheel.
I hate Stevens Creek they are so full of ****, if it were me I would be asking for them to get the Subaru rep in to explain the cause to me and then I would be shooting it out with him.
