so I have been looking around to see who has the most hd now. it looks like if you want as little as possible sd you hav to go with direct the only problem is there interface sucks ***** and none of the channels are in a good order dish comes in second not as many chanels but a better interface, comcast is third less then the other two but you get a **** load of ondamand only thing that sucks is there rates and there comprestion over the lines.

if only everything was in hd, anybody have uvirse yet I havent got to look at it as its not available out hear yet

I have a few options but i primarily use a standard vga cable for the video and connect the sound via 3.5mm male to male audio cable.

Other options that work: DVI to HDMI cable, svideo. for sound, you can use a 3.5mm male to 2x rca female.

I have a beast HDTV but also a ton of HD channels of DirectTV. If you have DirectTV you'll probably never see another none HD channel. Everything I watch is HD from the news to Deadliest Catch and The Office to sports. When you get it they have regular channels as well as HD and you go into the menu and shut off the duplicates so only the HD channels show up. ****'s ballin son.

With Direct you can highlight your favorite channels so the other bull**** like PPV, Lifetime, etc... don't show up. Plus they have a "hot button" for your top 9 favorite channels. Its the "up" button on the remote and brings up a transparency with the 9 channels and you click on the one you want. I have that for the few channels I watch live and everything else gets DVRed. I like DirectTVs set up personally.

SD channels look fine on my 50" Sony SXRD (LCoS) TV, not as good as HD, but they don't look like crap. It was one of the main reasons I bought it over a plasma.
