Guess what came in the mail for me today? :D
OK guys, I have been thinking a lot about this, and I know I said that the STi was a distant 2nd place over the EVO... Well I changed my mind...
I know I had some bad luck with my RS, and had some things go a little kooky with my 06TR, but I think if I get an 06/07 STi the quality factor issue will be minimized greatly. The STi has much higher quality parts, like the transmission for example. One of my biggest worries is always the damn tranny issues, and with an STi I wont have to worry about that crap anymore.
I still really want an EVO, but to be perfectly honest, I just don't really dig the body style (not talking about the new one) too much. For some reason it already looks very dated to me, whereas the 06/07 GD STi still looks fantastic to me. I also like the idea of a 2.5L engine, a 6speed that is virtually bulletproof, and not to mention all the little extras that the STi comes with.
I don't suppose any of you guys know of any local WRX STi's for sale? Car must have low miles! Someone's gotta know someone... Can you guys help me out? I'd really prefer white or black, but other colors are welcome too.
So you heard it from the horses mouth, I'm still a subaru fanboi, I just went through a very quick phase and was bitter about the crap I've had to deal with on my old Subie.
I'm still open to the idea of an EVO, but it would have to be an EVO 9 SE with low miles. I thought about the EVO X because I love the way they look, but I really can't afford a BRAND new car right now, and I don't think I'd want the first model year after they changed a bunch of stuff.
What do you guys think? Can you help a brother out?

The things I noticed when I test drove it was the clutch releases really late and the shift light and beep was the most annoying thing in the world.
It also had a turbo timer.

A new one is out of the question... My budget is around $25k give or take a little. Besides, for the STi I'd much rather prefer the GD pig snout body then the new one... Though I like the new EVO bodystyle more then I like the old one, but they changed a bunch of stuff on the new on, including the motor so I don't exactly trust it yet.
