Gran Turismo 5
I'm starting to get a little bummed out about this game. As I progress, I am seeing the aspect of this game that made me lose interest in the previous versions. I am playing the Professional Series "Muscle Car Championship" and there is an SRT-4 in here - WTF. But seriously.. I am playing this race, using my '69 Z/28 which is mildly modified. Every time I come up to a corner, as I slow holding my place, it's like someone just tossed a whole bunch of cars at me from behind - it's like there is no accident avoidance in the AI at all. In turns, I will be holding my line and another car will CLONK into me and just knock me off the track. At one point a Corvette was trying to get the line and just kept pushing my car like it was a destruction derby. I have tried this race a few times and each time I start out taking it serious and by the 2nd lap or so I am just slamming into cars left and right, since they are slamming into me and I can basically come flying into a corner and slam into 3-4 cars and still make the corner. It's so stupid that I am going to hook my XBOX back up and play Forza 3 for a while. Seriously this really sucks.

I think my m.o. in every series is to have the fastest car of the pack, get in first early, and have clear track the whole race. Otherwise, like wombat said, AI is stupid and will bump the S*&^ out of you and have to restart the race. Sucks because it's more fun when your on the same competitive level as the other cars.

I used a Superbird with just exhaust to do the first muscle car challenge and won pretty easily. I'll usually dive bomb the first couple corners to get into the lead and then the competition doesn't affect me. I hate that they brake so much, brake way before the corner so if you are drafting them, you need to get out from behind them well before the corner.
Also the 3rd leg of the Rally challenge is ridiculous. 8 special stages? 8? Damn I don't usually have that much time to devote to playing one race. I started to play it last night, 15 minutes later I was just starting SS4. I retired, figured I'd be there at least another 15-30 minutes and didn't have that much time to play. And getting the soft racing tires really makes a difference in the tarmac challenge compared to medium comfort or sport whatever the middle is.

I stopped progressing with this game since I found the online mode and drift now with some peeps I who I used to play gt4 with via xlink kai (the homebrew play gt4 online thingy).
Only time I actually do a career race is when I get bored with a car.
