Yea its not realistic at all right now. Basically I broke a piece off the front license plate running into a car going quite a bit faster. And I notice some scuffing. But not real damage, this is supposed to have real damage, fenders smashed and everything.
I'll tackle it another day.

Ummm why does the STi sound like it has equal lenght headers on it with a full race exhaust? Anyone try it out? Wonder if by me putting on the headers too, caused it to change the sound

I've noticed that most of the engine sounds are screwed up. My FC sounds like its a Honda
I hope thats something that will get fixed with a patch at some point...

Ya I agree. I understand that with so many cars in the game its bound to happen but you'd think these more modern cars they would try to get them spot on.

Worth the wait... no
That is why I stopped caring a year ago and decided the day it came out that I would check out Fry's to see if they had a copy left. And they did.
I am glad they did because... Is it fun still? Yes
While they have made it a bit more of a pain to get some of the cars for the different races, I am still fully enjoying the gameplay and the fact that they streamlined it moreso. It will not take you 500 hours to get 100% on the game now, but they have the world of online racing (granted, I haven't tried it yet, but I like the idea of racing other people)
Another thing I like are the new tracks they designed, though there are a couple points they would not design into a real world track, like a 360 degree turn, sharp drops, etc, they are not unrealistic on being in a real world road still.
In all, I still do think that GT4 is my fav (I have played GT3-a spec, GT4, an GT5), but I will wait to see till I get deeper into this one.
And that concludes my sorta novel for now. But yes, to answer your question again, if you like racing games, this is worth buying.
