Got Pulled For Front Tint In Sf
Yeah that's how I read it too. But then it talks about films and says both don't use it and you can use 88%... which is way up from what I remembered as well. Everything I've ever read and remembered was 70%. And that's what a lot of the tint pros go by too.
We need a sticky somewhere that has california laws of interest. I think I might have to take it upon myself to spend a couple days and do that. Maybe get a list together of what people want me to read up on and find.

Vehicle height.
Tires.

question, but I am fairly new new to the area. I take Bart into downtown for work, but have limited my driving there unless I absolutely have to...
As far as tint, I think it really comes down to each individual officer regardless of the what is written in the code. I knew couple State Troopers back in IL (who were actually smart, unbiased and pursuing criminology and law degrees) and they always said there are bigger things to worry about than pull over people just trying to look good driving down the road. As long as it was not really dark tint where they could not see what was going in the car and the driver was not an *** on the road they paid no attention to it. For 2 years in IL I drove with 35% tint on my window with absolutely not a single incident because I am always careful...and IL allows for ZERO tint of any sort...

jewpac42... you're right no quotas. That'd be illegal. But they do have "implied quotas" How many tickets they'd LIKE you to write.

As for the tinting issue pretty much any cop is going to write you a ticket for it. Just take it off and save the hassle. Fight the failure to stop, fix the tint and learn how to press the caps lock button.

Why do people think SF is so bad? It really isn't as scary as people think it is. Just stay outta the bad places...like HP, or TL...hell even the Mission district isn't that bad. I've lived here my whole life...my car hasn't gotten broken into...just seems scary with all the garbage and homeless people
out of towners are easy to spot though haha...sf isnt a tourist's town anymore...
anyways, where did you get pulled over? mexicans selling fruits on the corner sounds like mission/ph area
