When I was a minor, I was required to ask the judge for a trial by declaration, which he declined. Didn't matter to him that the court house was ~45 minutes away and only during school hours. In fact, he laughed at me and said "I want to see your pretty little face again."

Didn't know you could get it rejected once you were over 18 though...

Just do a written declaration trial. If you end up losing anyway you can still request traffic school.

What I am thinking now is that I cannot contest it via in writing because it is not a contestable offense (though I thought you could contest ANY citation no matter what).

I am going to ask some officers that come into my work and see if they know anything that could help me.

Try calling a DMV office in a faraway county, like Siskiyou or Modoc, they are usually a lot less busy....

I think if he got the car wrong, or your name/sex mixed up, you could probably challenge the ticket. I doubt that missing off the age would be enough of a mistake. No harm trying though, I guess.
