Cool deal, I just got a 240SX also, I got a 91, so it has the dual cams. I would just make sure the car runs well first. Then I'd do the suspension, 5 lug is optional and brakes, well, I think I might get new brakes for my 240.

I'm still debating the 5 lug conversion. But suspension + new tires = fun time. You may have to get an LSD as well, as the super hicas is garbage and all other models came with open diff.

Does your gf want you to mod it? I'd go with some really good tires and brake upgrades. Maybe even some new wheels (get spot mirrors if you do this). Not an annoying exhaust and intake that will do next to nothing on a boat motor, but cause problems for her.

They are pretty cheap and easy to locate.

If you really wanna get things going, check out JWT, nice ECU's, clutches, so on so forth.

dude, these are not the best bet for power...for the same price as a swap, you could get a rebuilt ka24de and throw a turbo kit on it and make more hp/tq than an sr. ka-t are not anything to scoff at. MUCH cheaper AND easier to do then a swap. dont knock it till you research it. ive had 2 240sx's and was weighing my options, everytime, the ka came out as the best choice.

a sr20 has a much better rod to stroke ratio thus making it a more durable engine. it's like honda's w/ turbo b16a's vs b20's.. the b16 has near perfect rod to stroke ratio and take a beating like no other where as the b20's tend to blow.. well they do have thinner cylander walls which help with that effect.

if you prefer a engine that isn't engineered as well be my guest.

true that.

you should do another one....everyone needs a grocery getter. Sell the STI do a pimp wagon. Now that you have the vette you don't really "need" the sti but you could make an excuse for a wagon..haa.

what is all ur fascination of the sr20... a cop see's it once and you get to swap it back... it doesnt make THAT much more power... KA-t is just as good unless you are trying to get a lot of f'kin power

SR20 was the thing to do, but now there are lots of kits for KA-T since it's more popular. There are a few KA24E kits, but most of them are KA24DE kits.

THANK YOU!! im not the only sane one here...but seriously, for not being engineered to be turbo charged, it sure does take well to a snail being put on it.
