But what you say is true Jeremy. It is insane that they lack so hard in games.
They should have had 50 games ready and waiting for the PS3's release.
And a bunch more in the works.

Personally I cannot wait to get an Xbox360.. mainly because all my buddies play the 360 and go online and meet up playing halo and what not.

I know quite a few folks that are doing the same as me, waiting for MGS4 and GT5 before they buy the PS3. I think Sony's not going to see any improvement in sales until 2008 (Q4?) after those titles are released.

?? heh.. it really is only a matter of time.. I for one believe the playstation is on its way out.

At work I cannot believe HOW few games there are for the PS3 versus the 360, wii, DS, PSP etc etc. its sad actually.. you pay top dollar for no option. well at least you have a blu-ray player right? Although I'd rather have HD-DVD anyday

Versus the Wii, 360, DS, PSP? Are you kidding? 360 has been out for 1 year longer, DS/PSP for 2 years longer, and the Wii has no third-party support and 2 good games out (Metroid 3, Super Paper Mario). The HD-DVD comment sounds fan-boyish. They have less space which means lower bit-rates (no matter how you put it, you can stuff more crap on a 50gb than a 30gb), and are more expensive. Fry's usual price for HD-DVD is $30-35 and are on sale for $17.99, while Blu-Rays are $25-30 and can be had for as low as $9.99 on sale (for good ones too). Oh, and let's not forget studio support. Just because Toshiba paid $150 mil to go HD-DVD exclusive doesn't mean it's a good format.

Format

Well, I think the industry needs to decide on which format will prevail (Blu-ray or HD) and **** can the other. I've been sitting on the fence waiting for a definitive answer on what will be the new standard. Be damned if I'm gonna drop $400-600 just to find out, "oh, we're not going to make blu-ray movies anymore, HD is the winner, so i guess you're just outta luck pal." And I think it's just lunacy to continue to have both formatts....Beta tape anyone??? I'll just keep burnin' up World of Warcraft on my Mac until there is an apparent winner. Can you imagine buying a whole collection of Blu-ray discs and then blu-ray goes under and HD prevails. Talk about a shot in the nut$. They won't con me into it. We outta just go the way of iTunes and do away with the media in the middle. Reduce it to the primordial ones and zeros and ****-can both HD disc and blu-ray disc. It could go like: Buy game online, download to computer, load on super high capacity USB key or portable hard drive, then plug into console. Hell, maybe just reinvent the game store to where you just walk in with your portable hard drive/USB key, drop your greenbacks for the new game, sales person jacks your hardrive into store computer and loads you up...that way no waiting for a download. The answer is so simple, why keep wasting time trying to create new plastic discs when we really just need the data? Damn, did I skew a little off topic?

umm.. for some reason I highly doubt the "ps4" or even the "ps6" is going to replace the ps3 within 1 year.

Wow a bit hostile. take some midol then get back on this ****.

I am not HATING on the PS3 or Blu-Ray for one. I was simply saying its disappointing that they lack so hard in games. Go into compusa/best buy and look at the sections... PS3 has like a quarter of what xbox has. My work carries every platform and we have almost every PS3 game... maybe off by a couple.. and we don't even scratch the surface of games that are out on 360 yet that section is seriously 4 times the size. Sure its been out longer.. but seriously.. don't act like thats justification to the worlds largest video game console not having more than like 6 games ready for its release...

And I am not saying Blu-Ray is bad. Because I would be an idiot to say it was. But I despise Sony electronics very much.. not saying I don't like the playstations, cause I own both PS, and PS2 but seriously.. Sony makes **** for TV's compared to sharp and samsung, and other than having 1080 with blu-ray capability their laptops suck horribly too. Which is why I would rather have a non blu-ray technology.

So read things thoroughly.. because I never said blu-ray or the PS3 sucks.

Sorry if I came off hostile, I didn't mean to. I love gaming overall and am a fan of all consoles (PC more than anything though), but the PS3 is really not doing that bad. There is Resistance, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Folklore, and Ratchet&Clank out now (those are the ones that mean anything to me), and a bunch more games coming out this holiday season, so I don't see anything that bad about it. As for Sony technology, I like the PS brand, Bravia, Ericsson... and that's about it. I agree with you with everything else Sony.

PS: Plus, as long as they keep releasing Gran Turismo, I'll have to own a Sony console just for that game, lol.
