Yeah, they drive on the other side... hehe
Also, bring your high limit credit cards. It was pretty expensive when we went and now the dollar is even worse.

For castles, Warwick castle in the midlands was my fav. If you are in London proper Windsor is pretty cool too as well as the Tower of London.
There's so much to see tho, if you are not going to be there for a long time I would seriously recommend grabbing a book and looking through it for a bit every day before going. The "time-out" series of guidebooks is cool because it centers on nightlife and stuff. I lived in England for about 2 years but only the last 6 months was in London. I lived in Stratford on Avon and it was pretty awesome. The midlands is great because it's less touristy, cheaper and much more "real" I guess. There's nothing like a good chippy... If you are heading towards Birmingham and Stratford up in the midlands I could recommend a lot of cool places.

I don't know you, and I'm not suggesting that you ever would DUI but...
On the subject of pubs, driving and the police, they will almost always breath-test any driver that they stop regardless of time of day. The limit is 0.08 (same as here) but they test a lot more frequently and thourougly. Be particularly careful if you drink late at night because you may still be over the limit the next morning.
Also, watch out for traffic speed enforcement cameras. Those things have been growing like a forest across the country as they realize what an easy revenue generator it is.
Have an awesome time! There is a lot of good stuff to see.
