Hey i was wondering if anyone knew how to take off the fromt bumper on an 04 wrx, or if their was a DIY on how to do it. It would be a big help.
uh... Basically just take your time to see what is attached to what. If you can't figure out why you can't get a piece loose, check to see if it's connected to something you can't see (for instance, the bumper is held in place by some clips the headlight is also attached to IIRC, so you would remove everything excpect the headlights and be confused as to why the bumper isn't budging.)
take off the center grill and plastics between the headlights by popping off clips on the top and bottom.
Remove the headlights by unscrewing stuff and unclipping headlight bulbs
remove clips holding underbody plastic in place, remove that (it's the plastic attached to the bumper covering the headers w/ a hole in it for the oil filter.
remove clips holding bumper to fender/fender well
remove clips holding bumper to bumper beam
then remove bumper beam by removing all the bolts it's attached to and start cutting away.

Most FMICs have a bracket that attaches to the front two bolts of your subframe under your car (You'll see the subframe after you remove the plastic).

Haha was this the video posted on i-club a couple years ago?

Perrin04, in case you've never removed clips before you need to use a flathead to slightly pop them up (just slightly, not all the way) and then grab by the base and pull the WHOLE clip out at once (once you get a clip out you'll see why).
You could just rip it out though and buy new ones at the hardware store - they are called "nylon push rivets - 1/2" " IIRC
Here's the way to take off the front bumper on the 04 WRX & STi.
1) Remove center grill, held in by the four horizontal clips at the top, 2 horizontal clips that you'll have to get to with a long screw driver. Or if you're AZN, just a use a chopstick.
2a) Remove skid plate if you have one.
2b) Remove the tabs that hold in the fender lining, only for the wheel well portion that connects to the front bumper.
3) Remove tabs for brake ducting / fender lining that connects under the car's front bumper.
4) Remove 8 push tabs, it's either 8 or 6 or something from under the grill and sides of the grill near head lights. You do NOT need to remove your head lights in order to remove the bumper.
5) There are two tabs that hold it in place inside the front bumper, passenger side uses what looks like a screw type, you just have to pry it out. Driver side has push tab style.
6) Pry gently at the sides of the bumper and it will come out.
