You know why you shouldn't do that right..... unless you plan to never change your tires or want to get them balanced. If you do, you'd have to buy a new set of center caps every time you get some tire work done or re-balancing. Just use permatex black rubber sealant on the inside lip, its still removable by scraping it, but also gives it a secure adhesion effect which will deter the ability to just pull the center cap straight off.
