This is why I decided to pursue other things in life other than LE. I made it through for a few agencies and just had to pick.

I respect the job and the people, but I can't help but wonder how some of you guys can put in effort when the Bay Area judicial system is a revolving door. Not to mention the things the higher ups 'suggest' you do, its just a career I couldn't do with enthusiasm or a clear conscience.

Do you know a relatively new cop on OPD, white guy, named Jimmy?

You gotta think of it this way, You and I know who did it, but tell a jury that you dont know his last name, or that you werent 100% sure where they hang out yadayadayada. Im sure there were some outside factors regarding your incident, honestly its straight up frustrating some times.

Your free to contact me at any time to discuss, obviously i cant speak for the department but id like to believe its not as simple as stated.

AS for the street racers, If your talking about sideshow street racing.......... Stolen cars EVERYWHERE, Carjacking Cars EVERYWHERE, Tons of Guns, Drugs, Prostitution OUT OF CONTROL. It does need to be stopped, tons of violence stems from these.

If your talking about the harbor street races.... Lots of stolen cars, lots of stolen parts/engines, lots of guns (One year a double homicide happened on middle harbor road during the street races).

But again, I can see your frustration, and trust me im right there with you.

Ive arrested a kid that was given probation for attempted murder........ Yes attempted murder 664/187. How in the heck do you get probation for that.........................

As always hit me up when you wanna talk or discuss. And if you have a report number im more than willing to take a look at your report and see if I can help.
I really appreciate you willing to help me out. And I can honestly say that out of all the Police Officers I've come in contact with, OPD officers tend to be the coolest. The few times I been pulled over by OPD I never received a ticket. It's the exact opposite for Berkeley PD. Every time they pulled me I got written up for something LOL. And yea I understand that you guys have a lot on your plate and so I figured well, I survived. I'm lucky because there are many others who weren't, so I havent the right to cause a fuss about what happened to me. I just wish that more could have been done. Unfortunately I dont know my case# since I moved to SD and got a new phone (my old one got soaked with blood from that night and the voicemail form the investigating officer has long since been erased)

I also appreciate the task forces that were assembled to stem the violence and idiocy that surrounds the whole SydeShow scene. Namely the incident with the "Maro Boyz." My frustration really doesnt reside with the officers of OPD but resides with the higher ups. Like Jerry Brown who was Mayor at the time and a close associate of my father's since the 70's. Despite my Father who made him aware of what happened to me, his hands were tied and he was too busy preparing for his run for State Attorney General, to really do anything about my situation. I just felt that the higher ups seem to care more about the bottom line, like Gentrification of real estate to increase property value within the City, moreso than the condition and safety of the city for which they serve.

In all I have the utmost respect for the Officers of OPD knowing that you guys are literally putting ur life on the line every time u step into your Cruisers. I'll PM you some info about my case if it interests you, but I dont expect anything to come out of it...I'm just happy to be alive, married, and to still have my Scooby!!!

Yep, justice is blind... but it is outright wrong a lot of the times! I had a tenant (berkeley tenant) out a false *** TRO on my ***... twice! First time he didnt show and i did = dismissed. 2nd time was b.c he didnt show for the first one? WTF? I won that 2nd one but WutThe***? So that is how our court system works... And this is the best part!!!... he files and received fee waivers both times!!

It doesn't make me sad, it just makes your opinion worthless.

LOL, I was thinking the exact same thing. Place them in different sections of Iraq, tell them that Al-Quiada is trying to take over their turf, and see what happens. They think they're so tough, let's see them manage holding on to a city in Iraq.

I know that there's some nice places around the hills, hwy 13, Clairmont, and Rockridge areas and I had great times when I lived there. I also noticed that within the 6 years I lived there I observed the city just take a turn for the worse...
Interesting, that almost exact same thing happened to me when I lived off Lake Merritt, a couple blocks from the Parkway on 10th ave.

Guy held me up while I was still in my car (just parked) so I was for sure not in a position to be grabbing anything from him. I gave him my wallet and he ran straight down the street in plain view. If I had a projectile shooter he probably wouldn't have made it down the street.

I lived in Oakland for about 7 years. It's a straight up **** hole. I agree with all the others and I'll say it too. " I say we nuke it from outer space, it's the only way to be sure...."

Technicalities like this should be abolished. If you're life or you are in danger of harm, you are allowed to protect yourself. If that means shooting some idiot running away because he thinks he can steal a quick buck, good riddance, probably shouldn't be on the planet and prevent him from robbing someone else or someone's property.

How dare you? That poor disenfranchised youth was set down a path of crime due to socioeconomic conditions beyond his control. All of his family and friends say he is a good person, and I feel that you should feel some guilt if you are of a higher social status than he.

We are doing our part by not prosecuting and/or being lenient with our sentencing on such a poor, misguided soul.

While they where busy being misguided, I guided my *** out of Oakland. Funny thing is I'm now just a tiny bridge and short tunnel away from Oakland but it's so much safer, quieter and more peaceful it's beautiful.
