Gagan -- are we going to get any rain out of this?
I summon the BAIC weather guru for his take on this:
Statement as of 2:45 PM PST on October 27, 2003
...Much Cooler And Windy Weather To Arrive Later This Week...
After a period of record breaking hot temperatures over the weekend and today... a sharp change in the weather pattern is expected by the middle of this week.
The strong ridge of high pressure that has dominated the weather pattern for the past week... is beginning to weaken and shift westward. This will allow a strong upper level disturbance... and corresponding cold front to reach northern California on Wednesday. As the front sweeps southward across the Bay area... north winds will increase and transport much colder air towards the region. Coastal locations will see the most dramatic cooling initially on Wednesday... with inland areas following suit by Thursday.
The north winds will increase over the north and East Bay hills during Thursday... becoming quite gusty at times. High temperatures will struggle into the 50s and 60s... some 30 degrees cooler than the balmy 80s and 90s over the past few days. Overnight lows will plunge into the 30s and 40s... with scattered frost possible by Halloween night as winds finally diminish and clear skies allow significant radiational cooling.

I know you asked for Gagan on this one, but I read the same thing. Once that 'high pressure' leaves the Utah Idaho border where it has been sitting, it will allow a large mass of arctic air to move in. They are expecting snow up in those areas while we will get a much cooler trend coming to us.

The forecast is starting to bend to my will. Looks like I better think about something waterproof for Haloween:
Friday
Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers.
