Rain, rain, go away, come again some other day...
... is what I would be saying if I didn't have a great AWD pocket rocket!
Supposed to be a big storm tonight and for the next couple days! YAY!
Just a reminder to everyone, just because you have AWD doesn't mean you can't crash in the rain. It's going to be REALLY slick tonight because of all the oil and stuff in the ground that is going to come to the surface due to the rain, so be safe out there!
Also, I saw quite a few CHP cruisers out and about today in the Fremont/Union city area... On 880 there was a cruiser pulled over with his radar gun pointed at the slow lane (no idea why he was tracking the slow lane). So keep an eye out and be careful
On that note, don't forget to have fun!
<---- Looking forward to seeing how the rally armor mudflaps will due in the rain. Also, curious to see how the Hankook RS2's are going to fair out there. They are ASTONISHING in the dry, and I never plug or praise tires so thats saying a lot from me. On par with SO3's, and half the cost! YAY HANKOOK!

It's sad how many people drive subies but don't know how to drive them worth a damn. People avoid track days because they cost money and put wear and tear on the car/tires, but honestly a track day is probably the BEST thing you can do for your car. It really teaches you the limits of what you can and can't do. The mid corner lifts, as you mentioned, are the biggest n00b mistake people make! Soooo many subies lost to the old mid corner panic...
Remember people, "SLOW IN, FAST OUT". No lifting when you're pushing through a corner, keep on the throttle till you exit the turn or straighten out the car, otherwise you're going to end up in someone's yard or in a tree. Learn from other peoples' mistakes, don't repeat them! If you have ever attended one of the old Mt Hammy meets, you'll recall that every year some n00b makes this mistake and ends up going off the mountain. *tisk tisk*. Small mistakes that have serious consequences. Most of these accidents could have been easily prevented with some track driving.

for first rain of the season.
Let's be careful out there ladies & gents. Just cuz we are quite aware of what happens when all that oil & muck that's accumulated on the roadways since our last healthy downpour, we've still gotta be vigilant of those who do not know how slick & slippery conditions will be with this first rain.
Happy & safe motoring!
And fwiw, I like the rain, so I'm not in the "rain, rain, go away" crowd.
