Ok...DANG it.

I talked to someone in sacramento. It's not there. It's back in SF. WTF is up with these people. They bored or something?

So supposedly it's in a truck. But if history repeates they won't deliver and it'll get shipped back.

SO Just in case. Anyone in SF down to pick it up for me today at the hub if need be?

well, like I said at first, my driver and I had to do daily pickups at a guy's house who sold nothing but performance parts. Some days we had to load up to 60 EXHAUST packages in 1 pickup. I can tell u that it was not fun picking up those 40-50 lb oversized boxes. I've jokingly entertained the idea about picking one up, but would NEVER take one. It's not worth getting fired over and eventually management and the likes will catch on.

As for other things, I have a friend that works for Cingular, and they REGULARLY have phones stolen from the boxes. Normally they would get several boxes in one shipment, so it would be impossible to check each and every one of them. What they do is take the phone out of its own package and leave the package inside the box so you would never know it was stolen unless u opened every phone box.

But that's where UPS and FedEx differ. We,the drivers, load our own trucks so maybe there's more "care" of the package involved. The only handlers we have are at the airport ramp and up in our stations unloading the cans that come from the ramp.
One Man Army: I hope you got your problem resolved in a good way. Good luck.

how long is the usual waiting period for becoming a driver? Do u guys regularly have open positions for the airport package handlers?

But for UPS, usually there are package handlers that load and unload trucks and sort things out. Technically they are suppose to arrange the packages according to the sequence numbers but it usually gets all messed up during the Christmas season. We would spend our mandatory 15 minute breaks AND lunch break getting them sorted in the truck. So we never really had much of a rest period

I was pretty pissed. But I stayed respectful and calm. I did rip into one person though. And I made it pretty damn clear with another one. I told her I want you to know I realize it isn't your fault and you can't do anything so understand I'm not angry with you and proceeded to string to gether something along the lines of where is my mother ****ing exhaust. How does a ****ing box loose 50 pounds in transit get loaded on to 2 ****ing trucks on 2 different days and not get delivered then shipped half way across the ****ing state and then back in under 12 hours and no body knows where it is except the computer? But worse.

when I was there in person I was pissed but calm Apparently I have very very kind and gentle eyes but when they light up I tend to scare people...go figure.

Turn,
No waiting time.We haven't had a waiting time since I started almost 8 years ago. Straight as a driver. Ramp Agents: Always have openings there. No sure when our next hiring session is though.

OneManArmy: Glad to hear you got your exhaust. Hopefully it doesn't happen again.
