With a FMIC I would definately go bigger than a vf34/39. Those are best suited with a TMIC. 18g+ I would go FMIC. My .02 from experience.

You COULD have a fmic with a 34/39 but will gain minimal hp and will lose a lot of driveability with the added lag. On my old car I had a vf34 and eventually went with a fmic..only gained 9whp and like 15tq, I completely regretted it.

Why worry about a turbo? I'd make sure they toss in a bus pass if your upgrading your turbo. Anything about stock and your playing with borrowed time with your 5 speed.

This also come from a person that was putting down 380hp 400 tq on a 2006 WRX tr and a stock 5 speed and clutch.

I wanted to upgrade the turbo and make more power. So I did that and upgraded the car. I knew if I wanted more power I was going to bust the tranny. I have over 84k miles since Oct 2005 60k of that in the upper psi ranges. Yes I'm a beliver that the driver makes or brakes them more then poor design. But everything has its limits so I felt it was time to upgrade.
The 02-05 5 speed I dont think take that much.

Thats why I said pick up my aps tmic and y pipe. You add a vf 34-39 and your good to go. tmic is stupid unless your running bigger, You have other problems to fix before you get there. Like tranny for one. I'll even toss in a brand new wally 255 and my used tr injectors.
You are also running a 2.0 which will lag on a big turbo as well.
With my aps system stock injector and fuel pump TD04 ->

See no lag... That was in a 110* day in phx

Did you just want a fmic for the looks or something? It's all up to you and what you want. You can keep the FMIC and have some more lag or you could go with a big TMIC and have a car thats more fun to drive around town and such.

Like Al said, your car is HATING you! Cobb AP Stage 2 map is for a turboback exhaust ONLY, you have everything wrong. You need a custom tune ASAP. I would not drive the car until its tuned for your mods.

Sorry, I'm not trying to be an A-hole, just being honest. Call a tuner close to you and see if they can email you a base map until you can get it custom tuned. Good Luck.
