Don't take my word for it, because I do not have a copy to post up.
Plus, I'm a liar.
intercoolers are on the list of items that can be replaced tmic for tmic, the issue with mounting a FMIC is the modifications to the ducting/BPV etc.

the BAR leaves us to discression on alot of stuff, then fines and cites us if we
make the wrong decision, go figure so most of us are "advised" to fail

also somthing that is not often brought up is that who ONLY has a FMIC? without any other mods? and unfortunatly the majority of subie aftermarket parts are illegal

fmic are ok as long as you have the stock oem turbo....most of the cops don't know if you have a turbo up grage so you can get away with it. Also a fmic has nothing to do with smog so they don't trip of the fmic, they trip cause of the reason you need a fmic.

Ok...your telling a guy with a fmic this? My good friend works as a chp and he also said it is ok. Also says that they are ok somewhere on the Cali. dmv page, I will pull it up for you if I can find it.

Also Greddy makes a fmic that is CARB approved....

this is true.. it does not specify if it has to be in the stock location or if it can be relocated (FMIC).

it does say that everything else must be factory, so thats the fun part of adding all of the piping but yet retaining the same pluming and locations as the stock setup had.

I think the CARB approval is the easy part, its the forking up the ton of money to get the approval that most aftermarket companies do not like doing.

I challenge somebody with a wrx aftermarket fmic setup to go to a state ref and see if they pass. And while you're at it, tell them u have to cut the bumper beam in order to get it to fit. Then see if it's still legal or not.

the CUTTING OF THE bumper beam is what makes FMIC illegal in subarus.

like me the greddy fmic lets you keep the bumper beam, so do some more fmic's but u saw the printout i posted up, a fmic is ok with a stock oem turbo. Guess you yours exhaust is also illegal......

the only reason why is like u said is because of the bumper beam. I guess I have good luck with cops, cause I have been pulled over with my fmic and they say nothing lol
