Best all around tires you can buy IMO. Great in the rain/snow, still tons of traction in the dry, good treadwear life
They are great tires in the rain and dry, but once heat cycled the tires suck until you wear off that burnt layer.

Grown man fighting back tears infront of 3 cops, not a pretty site.

When you were sliding did you hit the brakes, or did you keep the throttle steady. Because if you hit the brakes you have no power going to the wheels to pull you out of the slide.

once you've lost traction the best thing you can do is point the wheels in the same direction the car is moving, then once throttle can be applied and used, you can recover.

I would adivse going to an auto-x school, or the car control clinic that the BMW golden gate chapter puts on. you will learn a great deal about controlling your car, how to avoid accidents, and how to be a better driver.

here is the website:
http://www.ggcbmwcca.org

Go to Calendar, there is actually an event this weekend. Yes, it costs a bit to go, but it is well worth the money, especially for new drivers to higher performance vehicles.

Im, sorry maybe its because i grew up in an area with a lot of snow and rain, but who loses control of their car at 25 mph? I can't get my car to break traction at that speed if i wanted to.

a little off topic, but I was pleasantly surprised to see Daniel supporting the skin as most important organ. I would've figured you for a heart guy, as in "always aim for."

You guys all forget about the best rain tires, the Goodyear Eagle F1's GSD3

They're cheaper than S-03's (I thought Bridgestone discontinued them ) and do just as well, if not better than the S-03's in the rain.

One of the biggest driving peaves I have is people that put one hand on the wheel at the 12 o'clock position. You have the least control of your vehicle when steering with one hand!

1) If your air bag deploys, your hand will be forced to punch the ceiling, or your face. If you have a watch on your hand, it will most likely be imprinted on your forhead. In addition to this, your ONLY steering input is no longer on the wheel, so gravity and momentum steers you after impact.

2) You don't see rally drivers steering with one hand except when shifting.

3) Like Ed said, look where you want your car to go. This does not mean look directly in front of your car. Look 5 car lengths ahead of you.

dude thats the worst, one of my good buddies will corner his bimmer really hard, but he is using 1 hand half the time, at like 75mph for example. It freaks the **** out of me, if you get sideways at 75 you going to correct it with 1 hand?? i think not.
