The cop poped my hood took a look around and didnt notice mutch. But he did see my HKS BOV or as he refered to it "wastegate" and my MBC. He didnt notice the D/P cuz i just bought a Cusco Heat shield the day before whew that was a smart buy haha. Well n e who i had to smog it. At court i only got slapped with a 10 dollar ticket.

Why do you need to run catless, beyond base selfishness?[/b]
You're right... My point was that the requirements preventing moddification of any sort not approved by CARB are a dirrect result of the fight against street racing. And the reason that the CHP and other law enforcement agencies are being trained to spot vehicles with moddified emissions... NOt because we're all bad polluters. If people never started underground street racing... he would not have been pulled over.
california state ref said to my face that if it doesn't have a carb sticker it's not legal... K&N filters dont come with a carb sticker. He said technically it's not legal to change the air filter to a K&N, fram , or anything other than OEM.
THE CARB STICKER!!! This is the state saying that if an aftermarket company is going to produce a motor pumping mod that doesn't polute we're going to find a way to capitolize on it so we can spend more money training our officers to spot illegal mods and fight street racing.
The catless thing. I actually had a high flow on my downpipe. A weld on the heat shield kept breaking and rattling... I re-welded it three times before I bought the delete kit.
I had sooo much more flow through the exaust that the boost was creaping on my VF34. I decided that if this turbo as popular as it may be was flawed by design I had no choice but to replace it with a better one. I'm aiming for performance... like so many other tuners out there. I don't feel guilty for poluting because my car is far cleaner than the average car on the road in it's current state. I choose not to choke up my car because I don't want to lose those few horsepower... Maybe I'll get some dyno numbers to see the difference... I'm betting at leat 10-20 hp loss in the mid range along with slow spool. Since my K&N makes me illegal anyway... Why compromise power at this point? Just to save a few hydrocarbons??? tell the to the guy in the H2.

Right, because that makes me wrong. I came out of nowhere because I JUST bought a WRX, with less than 2000 miles on it. So far I have 109 posts here and 326 on NASIOC (which I spend more time on because I find it better organized and easier to read). Am I supposed to be ashamed of that? Does that make me know less? Does it make my point less valid? Absolutely not.
If you have a point about what I said, make it.

Omg, get over it, bfd, it's a couple cats ur not gonna reduce emissions or save lives by *****ing on an internet forum. yeah, we all know that cats reduce polutants. go talk **** on the v tec , bug-bus , diesel trucker, racecar, musclecar or mercades forums. I'm sure you'll find alot more people there to screw with there than the 25 people on the baic. The only thing your succeeding in is raising your postcount, hearing yourself talk and irritating everyone. Just drop it like it's hot.

Didn't mcowger state earlier he had high flows? By tampering with your cat you affected your "environment" too just to a lesser extreme. It still pollutes more than a stock cat. Why do you think a stock cat is so restrictive? It's because, as all cats work, it heats up over 1200 degrees to be able to burn all the particles of fuel that wasn't burnt in your engine. So by making a larger one that has more air flow you have a higher chance of those particles of fuel not touching that cat and not burning completely. Which in turn creates more hydrocarbons and more Carbon Monoxide. Either way you hurt the environment, it just depends on how much of an extreme you do it to.

dang i missed alot in a couple of hours at work. my input is some people choose to keep there cars stock(which is perfectly fine with me) and some people choose to mod there cars (which is perfectly fine with me). if you choose to take off your cats on your car, who am i too tell you not too? if you choose to take off your cats and you get caught it isnt anybodys elses fault but your owns. the environment is for everybodys and it is on the individuals decision on how to use there part of it. i have no cats. and im proud of it.
ps. hope everything goes well in your state ref. meeting
