appointments are better than first come first serve and they didnt want to give him one. thats strange dont you think? is it really all that hard to write down a name and time? but its really not ****ed up, it just sucked at the moment. i mean, the car got fixed, thats all that matters right?

Gruppe-S has practically a perfect reputation around here. Plus, if they are too busy to work on your car, it is a good sign. I would be scared to go to a shop that always has time.

Just my .02 cents.
I agree dood, but if they said 'no you dont need an appointment, just show up' and thats what he did, thats certainly not the right way to start a client/business relationship even if he was understaffed.

my advice: make appointments.

I give alot of respect to Mike and Gruppe-S. I'm sure had there been anyway he could have gone out of his way to help you he would've, he's just that kind of guy. But sometimes staying til 2am isn't possible all the time.

Being a former shop manager I can completely understand. If you call and schedule to have "A" looked at then show up at the shop wanting to have "A" and "B" done and the shop manager says "Hey, we had an appt. to look at "A", but we don't have time to look at "A" and "B" " is completely understandable.

I've only dealt with Gruppe-S on two occasions so I don't have much to go by, but I will tell you that there are 3 other "performance shops" that are closer to me that I've been to, and I will be driving my happy *** up to Gruppe any time I need something done that I feel too lazy or inept to do myself. I'll be paying them the third visit when my STI motor and tranny mounts come in.

I'll continue to goto Gruppe-S. Not only that, I consider some of those guys (Cal and Max) personal friends of mine. I can't see them screwing somebody over some petty **** like this. Heavy Dan, I think some of your posts in the classifieds are more shady than what Gruppe-S did to you that day.

Your all completely correct, we should have made an appointment. I have no idea why I didn't (I even took the call) we have a fairly comprehensive appointment booking system in place after all.

Heavy Dan - Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

yes but Mike also stated that he was originally coming in for a suspension noise (easy to check out) and once he got there he wanted them to work on stripped turbo bolts (much bigger PITA) not much you can do when you tell someone to come in for a small problem that turns out to be a much bigger problem that should be rescheduled to a day when you have more people and time on hand.

Im not trying to play down what happened Dan I know it must have been frustrating, but there was obviously more to the situation than you let on in your post, you probably should have taken that into consideration before you call a good shop F'ed up, just my .02
