bay area shop mix up

/RANT
Last Monday, I called a bay area shop/vendor and told them that I would be coming in on Saturday. They said they weren't too busy and that I don't need to make an appointment.
I showed up really early on Saturday and they had "important installs" to do and that they can't work on my car until Wednesday. They also told me they can't sell any parts that day.

I'm not going to hate, nor am I going to mention which shop it is because I've heard that they do good work... but, that is, hands down, the worst customer service I have ever received. I ended up going to a really sketchy shop in Sunnyvale that fixed my car in 40 minutes.

but, I will say that glad I'm moving to SF today and will be closer to Fine Line Imports. Last time I went there... they opened their shop for me on a weekend because I couldn't make it to them during work hours.

that's the LAST time I look to I-club for shop recommendations...

BTW, i was THE first person at the shop that day.

Do some research and figure out what bay area shop/vendor was open this Saturday (Nov. 28th).

I guarantee you'll be shocked and disappointed. That's all I have to say....

It was us Gruppe-S, sorry but due to the holidays and lack of staff (you may have noticed I was pretty much on my own) and a backed up work load there was pretty much nothing I could do at the time. You explained you had a problem with your turbo since you stripped/broke one or two of the bolts (which was different than the shock clunking you had called about) and I stated that I would not be able to fix the turbo issue due to heavy workload (not to mention staff shortage).

As far as the selling of parts none of the sales staff were in at the time due in part to it being a holiday weekend and a couple of them not being well enough to come in.

Once again I apologize for not being able to rectify your issues.

Mike

Mikes usually at that shop six days a week working from morning till 9PM, he would work till 11pm but the neighbors actually started to complain! He works his azz off trying to accomodate as many people as possible but sometimes you just stretch yourself a little too thin, I cruised in there on Sat afternoon too and they were slammed, besides being short staffed one of their guys had a tire blow out and hadnt even gotten there yet.

Being a business owner myself that gets alot of my work off the forums, I know how important it is to keep a good rep with other forum members, but sometimes you just cant win em all. Mike did the right think by stepping up and telling us honestly what happened on Sat, we all know the guys at Gruppe-s' keep an excellent reputation in our community, and Mike personnaly treats all his customers cars and their needs like they were his own. If anything it shows how good their service is by how busy they stay, but sometimes, especially when their shorthanded, people are gonna be put off

+1 for Gruppe-s

I came by at 5pm that day and they were busy with two cars. Said about 1 hrs, and at 6:35, Devin threw my car up on the lift and checked for a funny noise i'd been hearing. Went for a drive and talked about it.

I mean, it's 7:30pm on a Saturday, and he didn't EVEN mind to help me out. THAT is customer service. I'm sorry that you were told one thing and ended up seeing something else, but this doesn't happen at times.

I wont doubt they do good work, but a necessary client/business practice is to schedule appointments. period.

I dont know the story, nor do I want to get involved, but when it comes to customer service or client care, its important to be crystal f*cking clear, otherwise you have situations like this where someone has a bad experience due to communication failure.

just my two cents.

It is absurd to call any shop "****ed up" just because they did not have time to work on your car. Plus, as it seems, the problem was bigger, and, for gods sake, it was a t-day holiday weekend. Give people a break.

Gruppe-S has practically a perfect reputation around here. Plus, if they are too busy to work on your car, it is a good sign. I would be scared to go to a shop that always has time.

Just my .02 cents.

I don't think gruppe-s is messed up for doing that, when it comes to work its on a first come first serve basis and unfortuantly they happened to be understaffed when you came in.
