well i work for a large company that owns lots of property thru out the greater bay area mostly residentail, commercial and lots of strip malls, seeing that i used to be an operations manager i delt with the same situations she is, the only thing i can suggest is the company i work for owns some big pieces of property in san lorenzo and i know one nice parking lot
(crappy lighting but) i know theres no security and the only one that could throw us out would be the sherriffs dept of alameda, they would tell us to move on, if anyone likes the idea i say we move the meet and see how things go if we start to get botthered by cops, i could set gagen or someone that would like to speak for the meet in touch with the opperations manager and im very positive she would give permision i just dont want my name or neck out on the line because this is my job,

Never been to the Monday Monkey's Café meet - can the parking lot at Union Square Marketplace accomodate the UCKK crowd?

this is a good point.

Blah. See, people are suggesting that the meet be moved to way the fsck elsewhere like San Jose, Milpitas, or even Contra Costa County. I'm not trying to be mean and no offense to people who are coming from those cities, but don't you guys have meets at your own general areas for people who live out there? I wouldn't like the meet to be moved too far since most of us in the general area from Oakland all the way to Fremont. That, IMO, is what made UCKK special (not to mention convenient) to me. As long as it's within a reasonable distance from where all of us are who live in that area, since it IS Tuesday and a lot of us over here have work or summer school or whatever to attend to in the morning. It would suck to drive a good distance after the meet.

I would say that we move to somewhere else for now, but keep in contact with the management team at UCKK, and if we are able to work things out... then we move back... you know... I would say this is the best way...

I dunno if alex can pay your severance package bro

I think it is time to move to tapicoa Express. We can park down by Frieght Harbor, most of the businesses there are closed by 8pm, and the lot is empty. Only thing is, I don't know how friendly Newark PD is. And there is next to nothing for light somenights. But i like that option best.

yeah reason i mentioned there is because half of us used to always go over there after uckk anyways and we know they don't mind people there., especially since it brings them so much more business

that's too bad. part of the fun of uckk was it's location. it's busy, has easy access to food, well lit, and in a central location for people all over the bay area. monkey's cafe would be cool, but that parking lot is a pain in the butt to find parking in without being too in the boonies. in addition sooner or later the property management of that place would eventually kick us out as well. i think the only way we can keep it at uckk is if we became somewhat like the motorcycle crew of starbucks and parked the cars closer to a particular business and hung outside the business with their particular item in hand. I think it would be preferred to do this somewhere with an outdoor cafe (ie. jamba juice, chevy's) where it's expected you sit, converse, and enjoy the outside ambiance (like our cars). that way we are definitely not loitering.

I vote for Monkey's Cafe. We've had over 30 Scions show up without anyone bothering us. It's not as close to the freeway as UCKK, but there's great food, a great atmosphere, good lighting, and plenty of space.

Sorry Daniel, no AKs allowed!
