You must have overlooked the 600hp prepared AMS Evo the 300c beat..
the prepared STi's, the prepared wrx's, vettes, m3's, etc etc.
You just spouting off that the 300c is a POS without even doing homework was why I piped in.

I do in fact own a 300C as many have mentioned...
300c drivers are not all *******s, just like any car, they do have ******* drivers (subys included). I invite anyone to come meet me so that you don't think"we" are all like that one guy you met. In fact, I am part of a 300c club much like i-club and it is identical except that the age group is much higher, so you only get a handful of younger people (less bickering, more substance)
SLOW04WRX:
have you ever driven a 300c? i'm aksing because I love my car, and everyone that has DRIVEN my car (many who own STis, drive KARTs and race at infineon almost every weekend) has mentioned what a great car it is. What first-hand experience do you have with the car?
Roo:
What first hand experience do you have with 300cs? you seem to "know" that they are terrible cars, but you only talk about the specs you read about, not the drives you have taken in one...

6 11 Chrysler 300C SRT8 Luxury Sed 8335
David Zelkowski, Erich Heuschele
I'd just like to mention that David Zelkowski is a lead Chrysler engineer and was the designer behind something called the Super60 Turbo Kit (which made a Dodge 2.2l turbo engine make 300hp on pump LONG before the wrx and sti). That is probably a factory backed car to display what an all out SRT8 is capable of with a few one off factory race engineered parts on it. If you had a factory sponsored Subaru with a pro driver in it and custom race engineering team designing the car I'm sure you'd see similar results.

If you like 4cyl Turbo cars in general there is a LOT of good tech on that site.
Back to what the OP's story: that guy sounds like jerk. I wish someone would do that to me once. It always seems to happen to you nicer guys who'd just walk into the store. I would have kicked the **** out of that guy....of course, he probably wouldn't have gotten out of his car when he saw me, I'm not a small man

btw -- are you talking about the new 300C or the old, Sebring-like 300M? Just curious cuz I get them mixed up all the time also... or are they trim levels or something? Lol. Me and Chrysler don't have much of a relationship

Just a little clarification.....Chrysler makes 2 versions of the 300...
There is the regular Chrysler 300, which is your basic model.....
Then there is the 300C which is the HEMI version of the car, I'm sure with various other bits and pieces that are upgraded from teh base model 300 as well.
-Ted
GOTBoost there is also the 300M (Pre-2003) and like you mentioned the new 2004+ 300 series (C, base or otherwise)... i think some people are confusing those, not so much the different models of the new 300 series.
the new 300 series has about 4 or 5 versions of it, but they all look the same except for badging, wheels and some minor things...

yea, I was just talking about the new models....the older ones were called the 300M....the new ones are simply the 300....then the letter that follows the "300" designates the model.
But you caught my drift.

Well having seen to many confrontations go south I have to say you did the right thing by just walking away. I would probably do the same..
As far as performance.
The 300C = 340 HP
WRX Stock = 227 HP
300C = 4,251 lbs
WRX Stock = 3,085 lbs
300C = AWD
WRX = AWD
Both have four wheel disc brakes
the 300C has an automatic transmition
WRX is manual, with an automatic option
300C = 120.00 Inch
WRX = 99.4 Inch
Turning Radius
300C = 38.9 ft
WRX = N/A
I am not one to pick on other cars much! :d
I have seen some seriously pimped out 300C rides, and I don't think the car is bad. As far as performance on a tight technical course I would want to give my nod to the WRX. I haven't driven the 300C and given the wider wheel base I am sure this in itself instills driver confidence in cornering, however given the increased weight and slightly lower g's on the skid pad I would want to say the wrx will out handle it. This by no means says that you will win with either car because if you can't drive than it doesn't matter if you have a Ferrari or a Celica.
The Cadilac CTS is being run in the SCCA GT World Challenge and a driver is currently ranked third overall. Now I know you 300C owner don't want to compair the two since they are different but my point is that these cars are not what you buy on the lot so even a caddy like my Grand dad used to drive can be turned into a race car.
I think in the end it comes down to driver ability, the coarse, and what if any modifications have been made. just my humble opinion..
Oh yeah if you see that guy again just hit him for us..

Agreed.
I was just looking on the web site to compair apples with apples. It was a non judgmental call with regard to perfomance. Even still a rear wheel drive vehicle can have benifits too. No push in the corners. It gives you a better heel toe feel when you are pusshing it.
Also there is more trunk space in a 300C for that 2 miliion whatt stereo.. hehehee

i love the way it performs, I hardly ever push it in turns so I'm not sure how it could handle against a WRX. Its not that type of car, nor did I buy it thinking it was. I just wanted a more luxurious car with some good performance, and for the price the 300C was the clear choice for me.
fyi, a 300c or 300c SRT-8 is the only version with a hemi, all others have other versions of a v8 down to a v6...

They looked like they were wallowing around the road, not an agile vehicle. I've never personally driven one, and therefore won't claim to know how well it handles from a personal driving point of view.
I've NEVER said they were terrible cars. I just observed that, in general, the ones I've seen (stock), which would imply most of the stock off the showroom floor vehicles would act in a similar manner. There are specific exceptions to the rule (modified suspensions, purpose built racers, etc.), but then again there are always exceptions.
how did this thread evolve to being a WRX superior/inferior to a 300c?
that 300 driver is an ***, but you did the right thing. why risk injuring yourself or bikers/horseback riders on Calaveras by taking him up there? why risk fighting him as well. maybe the dude just got laid off, came home to find his wife in bed with another man, and is out to start isht.
